As a teenager I was lucky enough to receive tuition myself and it made a huge difference, so I really know how much of an advantage it gives.

Tutoring is my full-time job and has been for many years.

I am extremely quick at identifying student problem areas and devising the most efficient solutions, sometimes with budget or time constraints. Where necessary I focus on exam technique as I find many capable and knowledgeable students gain confidence (and marks!) once these skills are taught.

Hi, I'm a professional engineer with a passion for developing the next generation of STEM leaders. I've worked in both the Aerospace and Automotive industries with companies such as Airbus, Rolls-Royce, Bentley to name a few and I've given talks at universities nationwide about engineering. I have a surface pro with a pen for online lessons. In economics and maths, I use an online whiteboard which students have permanent access to, to write notes and solutions to exam questions. My approach is to accelerate students as fast as possible through their given course using exam material to deepen and develop their knowledge. I find I can accelerate students rapidly in maths (at GCSE and A-level), whilst they greatly enjoy the subject and the sessions. Students quickly improve at school too, which gives them extra confidence in their talents and capabilities. I set students past papers questions and we resolve any difficulties they had in the session. Iterating through past paper questions in this manner leads to exceptional results: a student of mine came in the top 1% in the entrance exam against Oxford University applicants and gained a place. A little about me: I'm Shaun, an 24 year-old originally from Dulwich. I'm just finishing my first year of a PhD in Chemistry at the University of Bath, and I have a first-class MSci in Chemistry from the University of Bristol, where I also helped lead tutorials and peer-assisted study groups. After my undergraduate degree, I worked as a Specialist Junior Chemistry Demonstrator at the University of Oxford, where I gained my AFHEA accreditation (Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy). These roles gave me solid, formal teaching experience and also helped me learn how to support neurodivergent students in a calm, friendly, anxiety-reducing way that seems to work well.

I have extensive experience teaching A-Level Chemistry, including supporting students who haven't taken A-Level Physics or Maths and therefore find the calculation-heavy topics tough. Over the years, my A level students have progressed into fields such as Medicine, Dentistry, Mechanical Engineering, and Psychology.

I take pride in identifying individual learning needs, breaking down complex scientific concepts into simple and engaging explanations, and creating a supportive learning environment that motivates students to reach their full potential.

In addition to improving academic performance, I focus on developing students' confidence, independent learning skills, and exam technique.
