I then take these away and mark them in my own time and return with a deeper view of where they are going wrong after they have been taught. In our sessions I will help with essay structure, illustrate how to use higher order analytical and evaluation skills, and crucially, how to apply an answer to information in a case study, or how to bring in real world examples.

Over the years I have taught an increasing proportion of students online, so that currently about 90% of my tutoring is done this way. I use Skype/Google Meet/Zoom and Google Docs, which students can also access. "Matt only got an E grade in his February A2 mock exam and the school predicted he would get a C grade at A2. With the significant assistance from Ian, Matt achieved an A* at A2. Tutoring Approach:
I aim to provide a solid grounding in the subject while paying close attention to the needs of the individual. An initial meeting establishes the student's needs and the direction tuition should take. We then begin work on a programme of study which focuses on filling gaps in knowledge and addressing any areas of weakness in some cases we conduct a diagnostic test .
I set regular mile stones/homework and assignments - the quantity varying with how much time the student has - and give feedback the following session.

Tuition generally runs as an independent course running parallel to and complementing what the student is doing at college or university. The programme of study is flexible enough so that we can focus on any upcoming assessments. As the exam or submission date approaches, the focus shifts towards report writing and exam techniques and looking at past papers.

I offer short-term and log term tuition when there is availability, students generally come for a good part of an academic year, often longer.
Over time, I've become convinced that private tuition works not just because of the one-to-one teaching, but because of the relationship between student and tutor. My students generally see significant improvement in their work, and sometimes their results are quite spectacular!

Just completed Psychology at Glasgow Caledonian University, although I have 15 years of working experience as a strategic and goal-oriented Senior Executive, with a proven track record of accomplishments in Business and Marketing, along with teaching and training experience amidst Uni students, corporate professionals and students from 12 up to 18 years old. Plus a total of 8 years of Marketing Management and Business qualifications each completed with a 2:1 grade.
