I have had long and very successful experience of teaching to a variety of qualifications and have always been able to adapt to changes in specification and subject requirements. My results have consistently been excellent.

I have considerable experience of examining and moderating A-level Economics and Business. I was Chief Examiner for a major examining board in A-level Economics for over 20 years and have worked with other examining boards and regulatory authorities. I am an OFQUAL Subject Expert in Economics and Business Studies.

I have been responsible for training many teachers in schools and colleges and at various universities.

I have also published several textbooks, teaching guides and other learning materials for both Economics and Business Studies.

I have 40 years of experience of teaching Business Studies and Economics to O-level, GCSE, A-level, BTEC and degree level.
I have always been an enthusiastic and hard-working teacher and still find teaching fun and very satisfying even after such a long career.

Tutoring Approach:
I am very supportive and aim to make my students more confident and independent so that they can succeed in their examinations or coursework.

Fortnightly sessions are possible where you do work in between for me to mark before the lesson.

When students have specialist teacher(s) at school, college or university the usual way of progressing is for them to work on one or substantial pieces of work. These might be a series of short-answer questions, data response, essays etc. This may be one given to them by their teacher(s) or I can supply assessment materials if needed.

They send me the work a day or to before the lesson so that I can mark it in advance for discussion. There is also often time to discuss one or two topics with which the student is having difficulty.

Students in education usually do one-hour sessions weekly or fortnightly but some students make more or less frequent arrangements.

Although this is the way that most students work, other approaches may be needed depending upon the student's course and requirements. I aim to be as flexible as is necessary to ensure a student's progress.

Currently university lecturer teaching to from CertHE, BA(Hons) and Masters level with industry and military background.

Experience includes leadership in military environments under extreme pressure where the requirement for a types of leadership qualities was essential to achieve objectives, often in extremely demanding situations. A cool head and the ability to think on my feet enabled the development and achievement of my leadership qualities allowing me to translate that into the qualifications I now possess and being invited by some of the leading universities in the UK to deliver.

My approach is to identify the students need whether that's understanding the content fully or being able to apply their knowledge to exam questions. Or indeed whether the student needs to practise structuring their writing to more clearly align with the mark schemes from the examiner. In addition some students need support organising themselves and planning their revision. I believe it should complement and enhance their school work in a positive way. Since I'm a University student, I prefer conducting online classes the most where it can suit my lecture/tutorial schedule the best ! I'm a very bubbly and cheerful person, so studying won't all just be books and papers, chit chats will be coming in the full package as well ! Just remember, being 'gifted' or not doesn't matter ! Studies all honestly revolve around your effort and originality to it ! If 'gifted' people can memorize/learn content easily on their second try, I'll just do it on my fifth try then. Resilience and uniqueness are the key of honing yourself from an academic victim to an academic weapon, no matter the age, place, subject or even difficulty of it !
