During the past year I have coached students for Maths A level, Physics A level, Chemistry A level, Maths GCSE and Biology GCSE.

Previously, during my academic career, I tutored many undergraduate science students. Subsequently I worked as a management consultant, explaining difficult technical concepts to a large number of diverse individuals.

Over the past three years I have brought my coaching skills to my role as a private tutor, helping young people with their GCSEs and A levels.

Tutoring Approach:
Many people who would benefit from private coaching are likely to have struggled with the method used by teachers within a school environment. My approach to tutoring is very different to that adopted by someone teaching a whole class. Tutoring Approach:
I aim to provide a solid grounding in the subject while paying close attention to the needs of the individual. An initial meeting establishes the student's needs and the direction tuition should take. We then begin work on a programme of study which focuses on filling gaps in knowledge and addressing any areas of weakness in some cases we conduct a diagnostic test .
I set regular mile stones/homework and assignments - the quantity varying with how much time the student has - and give feedback the following session.

Tuition generally runs as an independent course running parallel to and complementing what the student is doing at college or university. The programme of study is flexible enough so that we can focus on any upcoming assessments. As the exam or submission date approaches, the focus shifts towards report writing and exam techniques and looking at past papers.

I offer short-term and log term tuition when there is availability, students generally come for a good part of an academic year, often longer.
Over time, I've become convinced that private tuition works not just because of the one-to-one teaching, but because of the relationship between student and tutor. My students generally see significant improvement in their work, and sometimes their results are quite spectacular!

Professionally I have Chartered Engineer status and Member of prestigious IET and having Bachelors degree in Electrical engineering and Masters in Business Administration (MBA) and over 20 yrs of professional work experience. I like to make students comfortable first so that they can ask questions, I believe no question is silly.to be honest I can observe easily if the student has understood what I explained or not, then I prompt looks like you didn't understand, so let's learn again.
