I will always begin by discussing my tutee's individual requirements and areas of the syllabus they would like to focus on. Students may ask to recap concepts and theories that aren't fully understood, however in my experience most require help with exam technique, and how to translate their knowledge into a high grade answer. I therefore place a great emphasis on guiding students through the process of answering past paper questions, across all topic areas. In our sessions I will help with essay structure, illustrate how to use higher order analytical and evaluation skills, and crucially, how to apply an answer to information in a case study, or how to bring in real world examples.

Over the years I have taught an increasing proportion of students online, so that currently about 90% of my tutoring is done this way. I use Skype/Google Meet/Zoom and Google Docs, which students can also access. This makes the sessions as interactive as meeting face to face, and it also means I can tutor students from anywhere in the world (I have taught people in South Africa, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Spain, France, Serbia, Russia, Montenegro and Bermuda). Throughout my career I have been passionate about delivering dynamic, effective and student-focused courses, training sessions and workshops. All my lessons and courses are well researched, planned and delivered as I am acutely aware of the skills that students need and the expectations they have. I am focused on their wishes to achieve their goals as swiftly and successfully as possible while stimulating their curiosity and having fun during the learning process.

Teaching Experience:
40 years teaching and living in a variety of countries including: Germany, Spain, Italy, France, Egypt, Finland Sweden, Japan, China, New Zealand , Vietnam.

Teaching and examining English (TEFL), teaching EAP (English for Academic Purposes to post-graduates and PhD students), ESP (English for special purposes) courses.

Teaching business personnel in Japan and the EU soft skills (presentations, meetings and negotiations) and business issues (e.g. business plans, manufacturing, logistics, marketing practices, etc.),

Lecturing at universities in Hanoi and Kuwait on International business and e-commerce/e-business.

Tutoring Approach:
I use Kolbs learning cycle as a benchmark for my training/teaching. It is focused on learning through; observation, abstraction & reflection, experimentation (do & feel) and recycling (concepts, ideas, etc.). It is very practical and puts the learner at the heart of the learning experience. It also involves the motivation, interest and the curiosity of the learner, who may need stimulation, encouragement and to find leaning is fun and fascinating.

My lessons are both guided by the specific requirements of each course and personalized to meet the needs of each individual student. These two factors are fundamental to ensuring individual students utilize resources, build general, academic and practical competence to fulfil their requirements and exam grades. I believe having a clear 'road map', ensures students can reach their goals.

I am a Qualified Chartered Accountant with over 13 years of experience. I offer personalised, engaging, and reliable tutoring, focused on providing clear and supportive guidance to help students succeed.

Teaching Experience:
I have a vast experience of one to one teaching from 2010 to date. My expertise is in Accounting, taxation and finance.

I am also a member of ACCA and ICAEW and have been working in accountancy practices since 2006 helping clients to comply with their accounting and tax regulations.

My knowledge of the subject coupled with practical experience help the students to understand the topics in a better way and relate them to the practical world.

Tutoring Approach:
I think my job is not only to impart knowledge but also give confidence to the students by highlighting their abilities and skills and at the same time working on their weaknesses.

I was coaching a CIMA student and it was her last chance to pass that exam. I noticed that knowledge of the subject was not an issue.

I just fine tuned her concepts and gave her confidence.

I only delivered three sessions and she passed her exam.
