I also have eighteen years of experience working in clinical biochemistry laboratories within the NHS. This encompassed various roles and duties, including producing analytical results to help diagnose and manage patients, troubleshooting and problem-solving, discussion of patients with clinical staff, management and supervision of laboratory staff and research and development work. I found Ahmad very helpful for exam question practice, which is the main thing he focuses on rather than explaining content, unless you get a question wrong because you don't know the information. He keeps track of which questions you get wrong and then recaps them at the beginning of the next lesson until you get full marks on it, which I found really helpful. Tutoring Approach:
The style of tutoring needed by individual students will vary. It may start with ensuring understanding of the key concepts in biology at an appropriate level. The jump to A level from GCSE is quite considerable and even the brightest students can struggle initially. Another essential skill needed is the ability to pull together biological content taught in different parts of the syllabus. As exam time approaches, a student has to apply their knowledge and understanding to real exam questions. Practice of exam technique is often a large part of a tutorial session in the run up to A level exams. This is an even more important aspect of my tutoring approach since the A level course recently changed to being examined solely at the end of two years. I am currently studying Biology, Psychology and English Literature at Churston Ferrers Grammar School in the UK and have a strong passion for my studies.
I'm very much into my sport and exercise, I play wheelchair basketball for Plymouth Fusion and enjoy going to the gym a few times a week for how it makes me feel. I'm an overall advocate for all people (but particularly young people) taking care of their own physical and mental health through the right activities and approach to life.
