During my long service in the Pharma industry (~30 years), I have run many short courses and workshops. The students of mine who I assisted during A-levels have gone on to achieve top grades, and those that did not achieve the highest grades boosted theirs by at least 2 (e.g. E grade to C grade, or C grade to A grade). In addition to this, I was a member of the Medical Leadership Programme, where I was taught key teaching and professional skills that support me in my role as a tutor.

Tutoring Approach:
My approach to tutoring is student-led, meaning that you tell me what you would like help with and I will then do that. We can set goals together for what you would like to achieve (e.g. do you want to boost your grades, or improve your question answering techniques? etc). I can help you learn course content or gain further understanding of the topics if you are aiming for higher grades. I can assist you to master exam technique and understanding different question types & marking criteria. I am PhD in Microbiology and have 9+ years of experience in research and teaching in the higher education system. I am lecturer at a prestigious university in the UK. I am passionate about science and love to orchestrate the projects at hand with coherence, clarity, and focus. I did my Post Doctoral Research from Imperial College, London and established research area in the area of biofilm. My PhD was about plant-microbe-soil tripartite associations and underlying molecular aspects. My expertise is Microbial Biotechnology with varied applications in industries.

Teaching Experience:
I teach subjects from wider Life Sciences spectrum.
These are mainly Microbiology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Antimicrobial resistance, Applied Biosciences from level 4-7.
I am also involved in teaching necessary research skills including literature search, referencing,
paraphrasing, using credible sources and writing the literature review.
Specific focus is made on how students critically appraise the literature and practice critical analysis.
I also teach literature survey course, as well as scientific writing.

I am a highly experienced Science teacher with 25 years plus teaching Chemistry (specialist), Physics and Biology up to GCSE level and beyond, with a comprehensive subject knowledge. I have 8 years' ongoing experience as a AQA and Edexcel Examiner, marking Chemistry papers and working with mark schemes. For exams, the requirements of the exam board are paramount. I prepare students on how to revise most efficiently and structure their answers to score maximum marks. I inspire students and have high expectations and teach according to their needs and provide full support to achieve the best grade for them.
