Hello, I am a private tutor available for one-to-one tuition in GCSE and A/AS-Level Maths and Physics, including remote online tuition.

I have a degree in Physics from Imperial College and a Masters in Astrophysics. I have a passion for these subjects and I love teaching others. I am a young and friendly tutor with an approach that students find relaxing and rewarding.

Teaching Experience:
During my long service in the Pharma industry (~30 years), I have run many short courses and workshops. During 2005/6, I mentored a pupil (Year 10/11) at St. Peter's High School, Longsight, organised by the University of Manchester. In the past, I have also been responsible for organising and running the weekly classes at the Sikh Temple (Gurdwara), for teaching youngsters the Sikh way of life & Punjabi culture, in helping to improve their knowledge and integration into the Western Society over a period of ten years.

Tutoring Approach:
I can provide tuition to individual students (or small groups) in the form of friendly, relaxed lessons. Teaching sessions are always customised to meet the specific requirement of the students. Generally, I enjoy teaching and considered to have a caring approach. I use a combination of computer and 'white board' based approach, for creating informal interactive / discussion type sessions, with some form of regular tests and re-cap sessions. Closer to the exams, the lessons are much more focused on using past papers covering a wide range of questions, to enable the students increase their confidence in preparation for the examinations.

I am an experienced Head of Physics and fully qualified secondary school teacher in Science. I have vast experience of tutoring from year 7 up to A-level and unlike other tutors I am also teaching in the classroom. I currently lecture at the University of Salford and have over 28 years of teaching experience. I'm a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, a Visiting Lecturer at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, and also teach in São Paulo, Brazil. I've worked extensively in higher education, including as an assessor for university teaching qualifications and an external examiner for several universities. The tutee largely dictates the structure of the sessions, including the subjects they wish to focus on and their preferred learning style, which can be discussed during the first session. As the student develops, the structure can be adapted accordingly.

I found Ahmad very helpful for exam question practice, which is the main thing he focuses on rather than explaining content, unless you get a question wrong because you don't know the information. He keeps track of which questions you get wrong and then recaps them at the beginning of the next lesson until you get full marks on it, which I found really helpful. Personal Description:
I left school with one A* grade, six A grades and four B's. A's being in English, Biology and Geography. I was also a prefect in school chosen for my level of drive.

During sixth form I was a student mentor where I helped GCSE students with their upcoming exams and acted as a person of support and welfare. I studied law achieving an A*, sociology achieving an A and psychology achieving a B grade.

I'm currently a third year psychology student at the University of Birmingham. During my time at university I have gained an in depth background knowledge in psychology including child and educational psychology. I hope to start a career in child psychology because I love interacting with children. I'm Ela and I'm a second year chemical engineering student at the University of Bath. I have always loved working with younger people and teaching. I am fluent in both Turkish and English so I can tutor in both languages!

Teaching Experience:
I have tutored maths and chemistry previously in my school, helping students do the questions they struggle with and go through topics they can't wrap their heads around. Alongside my degree I also coach gymnastics to children of different levels and ages.
