The tutor is the expert in subject knowledge and learning but it is the tutee who has the paramount role in their own education and excelling in their subjects. I firmly believe that the role of a tutor is that of a catalyst and the child's role in their own learning is of greater importance. Honest school teachers will tell you that it is the noisy and disruptive pupils that get their attention, whereas the quite shy hardworking pupils tend to get neglected. I have a lifelong experience in teaching STEMs and biology-related subjects from secondary to undergraduate level. I worked for universities, colleges, secondary schools, and, educational companies both in the state run and in the private sector.

Tutoring Approach:
I design and develop learning outcomes on knowledge, understanding, professional-practical and key skills. I create and curate learning materials and implement formative assessments according to tailored learning criteria with thoroughly thought through feedback. I communicate with students on learning to enhance development and self-awareness. My students always achieved to the highest of standards with excellent results.

Personal Description:
I am a qualified and experienced teacher and tutor of Biology and Chemistry with over 30 years teaching experience.
I have a B.Sc. in Developmental Biology and Biochemistry from Aberdeen University and a PhD.D. in medical science from Glasgow University.
I very much enjoy helping students understand and enjoy learning the concepts in Biology and chemistry needed to succeed in passing GCSE and A-level courses.( also Higher and Nat 5 courses in Scotland).

Teaching Experience:
I taught for 18 years as Assistant Curriculum Leader in Science at Clydebank College in Glasgow. I also taught a second year and third year university course in Biology with the Open University from 1998 to.2003. Following retirement from full-time teaching, I worked part-time as a Lab Leader with the first year B.Sc.Biology students for 5 years.

Tutoring Approach:
I can make use of a variety of resources, including written course materials, videos and animations available online and use of a whiteboard to explain calculation methods, to help students understand and learn course work. I feel it is important to adapt my teaching approach to meet the needs of each individual student.
