I'm a qualified science teacher and Head of Science based in London, who currently teaches in a secondary school to students aged 11-18. Hi I'm Meghavi and I am a BSc Physics graduate from Imperial College London and I have a QTS (Qualified Teaching Status) at grade 1 - Outstanding. Currently, I work as a Consultant in the Digital Transformation space. I have always been interested in teaching, from my GCSE years, I began helping my friends with their school work. Moving to A level years I started helping out some of the teachers in my school to run after school sessions to help kids with their Homework. Clearly each student is different, and so the way of teaching each one will be different. However I believe that if the foundation is strong nothing can go wrong. I will first try to ensure that the concept and the base of the subject is strong before we go on to a number of past paper questions and exercises. I believe that the best way to learn is to see how any problem can be tackled, go through the thought process and then apply what you know to the specific problem and solve it.

I will first see what the student finds most difficult and what their weaknesses are and then strive to overcome them. Each student will have their own learning methods, some may learn by understanding the whole concept then going into the exam questions, some want to go through exam questions while they are learning the concept to see how the theory can be applied to the problems. Some may learn visually with experiments or examples whereas others will learn through trial and improvement of their own. I will spend the first session finding out how they like to learn and design a program just right for that individual student.

From previous experiences I believe the key areas students need help in are:
- learning the foundation of the subject
- how to manage time in exams
- how to structure their answers in an exam
- lots and lots of practice

I tutor Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology up to GCSE level, and I particularly enjoy making challenging topics easier to understand by breaking them down into clear, manageable steps. I currently work full-time at a PRU in Nottingham, alongside tutoring a number of private students. I am patient, reliable and committed to creating a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, building their confidence and making progress.

Teaching Experience:
I have been teaching and tutoring since 2008 and have extensive experience supporting students up to GCSE level in Maths and the sciences. I believe that students learn best when they feel comfortable, supported and able to ask questions without fear of getting something wrong. I take time to understand each student's strengths and weaknesses before breaking topics down into clear, manageable steps. I use straightforward explanations, worked examples and plenty of practice to build understanding and confidence, while regularly checking that the student has fully understood the material.

I would adapt the pace of each session to the student, using shared resources and an online whiteboard where helpful.
