I live in West Cornwall with my young family, and currently work as a private tutor and academic mentor. Born in Brighton, it was there in 2009 I completed my teacher training and began a career as a science teacher.

I've been tutoring Maths, Science and English since 2007, for ages 5 to 50. However, I mostly help teenagers with their SATs, GCSEs and A Levels.

Maths, Science and English are the three main subjects that people tend to want tutoring in. (Actually it's five subjects if you break the Science down into Biology, Chemistry and Physics.)

Anyway, as I tutor all of these subjects, my students find it very useful that I can potentially cover a different subject each week, or I can do two hours a week and cover a different subject in each hour.

I am a PhD student, undertaking my doctorate in Environmental Sciences, with a focus on soil nutrient cycling and nutrient transport to surface and ground waters. I completed my BSc in Physical Geography at the University of Exeter and gained first class honours in this.

Teaching Experience:
I carried out teacher training at a basic level with the University of Exeter in order to participate in the Students Associates Scheme. After this training I spent three weeks in a local secondary school where I actively participated in Geography and Religious Studies lessons, and was able to provide work plans for higher and lower achieving students. I've managed to survive two lockdowns of online teaching and it has been a huge learning curve for myself. During these periods I taugh live lessons using google classroom both on an individual and classroom basis.

My experience in online teaching is based around using google classroom systems but I'm more than happy to adapt to applications that my pupils are more comfortable using.

I am a 26 year old living in Feltham, I work full time as a Disability Advisor and Autism Specialist Mentor supporting higher education students to access reasonable adjustments, provide pastoral support and advice. I also co-run workshops and events for the university I work for.
