The tutor is the expert in subject knowledge and learning but it is the tutee who has the paramount role in their own education and excelling in their subjects. I firmly believe that the role of a tutor is that of a catalyst and the child's role in their own learning is of greater importance. So the setting and marking of past examination questions is an essential part of the preliminary and follow-up material - at all stages - but particularly for those in their final examination year, and even more so in the weeks before the final external examinations.
