Bonjour! I am a French National, originally from Beauvais ,a beautiful medieval town , 80km north of Paris.
A graduate from Amiens University with a BA in English Literature & Civilization, I also studied Fashion Design & Illustration in the international Paris American Academy.

I trained and worked in London for several years, before moving to N.Ireland.
In search of calm and beauty, we now live near peaceful meadows, a mere 5 minutes drive from Banbridge, a 20 minute drive from Newry and 40 minutes from Belfast.

Ben progressed onto doing a Foundation Degree in Action Photography at Truro College where he specialised in sports Extreme Sports, Natural History, Social Documentary and Events Photography following this he began to prepare for a more commercial direction. Ben still maintained his roots in expressive art during the foundation degree but also developed his technical skills thoroughly, and this has been commented on though out his professional and teaching life.

In 2009, he progressed on to Plymouth University to study for his BA Honours in Photography where he achieved a (2.1) During this course, he spent time intricately studying the history of art and photography, and Ben spent many hours mastering skills in studio large and medium format photography. He concluded the year specialising in colour film, Medium format studio photography and focusing mainly on portraiture, with a project called 'The Paradox of Perfect Beauty'.

This study challenges the ideologies of what is defined as beauty throughout art history, sculpture, and figurative representation. It critically analyses the standardised figures and body shape used in art as well as in modern-day commercial advertising, fashion and other types of portraiture.

Ben worked for 3.5 years at an Apple APR shop in Guildford so has a very in-depth knowledge of Apple technology and software and during this time taught people of all ages to use Apple computer something he still tutors to this day in.

I prefer to teach over a 2-hour basis, and this allows for focused study and practical time of guided activity further to this I will travel for a lesson but ask that travel expenses are paid.
Lastly, due to previous experiences, I ask that 50% of the total job is paid upfront as a non refundable deposits on acceptance of the agreed package. I ask this due to the fact I have to pay the tutoring site based on the agreed amount a fee.

I have a relaxed approach to teaching, trying to view someone's work objectively but giving prods and direction where needed. I like for my students to discover the answer themselves as this embeds the knowledge and allows them to master their subject. I have taught in the UK for over 10 years and have extensive experience in teaching Art at A-level and at GCSE. I see myself as a 2D specialist as I can do a number of different techniques and have an experimental approach to teaching Art. Every project is unique and I am constantly learning. I will be able to do printmaking with students, painting, textiles, some Adobe photoshop work and basic construction work. But most importantly I do understand the exam boards at GCSE and at A-level and enjoy developing a project with the student to meet the assessment objectives of the exam board and in so doing taking the students through a journey of discovery where they can become empowered and passionate about their work. I do my own illustrations and painting and enjoy using mixed media in my own work but my speciality is fine black pen work.

Having worked for over 20 years as an Art teacher leading students in the A-level and GCSE course I have the ability to help a student to develop their skills when taking Art and Design as an examination subject. I have worked with a number of exam boards and even consulted with OFQUAL where I helped look at the standards in the exam board across the Country. I would work with the student to find out exactly what their special skill is in Art. Students will need to find a topic that inspires them and do some visual research on this and I would then help the students by teaching them a range of different techniques, learning how to draw in a number of media from pencil, chalk, oil pastel, pen and ink, biro and graphite and then teach them how to paint in gouache, acrylic, watercolour and use a mixed media approach. Textiles is also a medium I would offer students and basic construction techniques. Adobe photoshop skills is also important in developing photographic images as part of the development. Developing different skills until the student finds out what they particularly enjoy working with and helping the student to explore different media to extend their ideas and lead the students up to developing a final piece. The students would then have a whole project from beginning to end which will help with portfolio development.

A big part of my inspiration comes from the natural surroundings and through my travels. The main topic that I approach it is landscape, in all moods and mysteries. The diversity of materials that I use helps me to create in the smallest details, impressions created about the natural world and our experiences with it.

Hi, my name is China and I am a London based Artist. I have been an Artist for over 10 years now, winning competitions, exhibiting in London Galleries and creating commissions for clients. My practice is focused is on realism and I have ventured into other avenues of creativity such as scenic painting, storyboard drawing and restoration.
Despite gaining a BA Hons in Fine Art: Painting at Wimbledon College of Art, I feel my skills have not come from the educational system. I am mostly self taught with a couple of additional training workshops at atelier Schools such as the Academy of Realist Art and Edinburgh atelier of Fine Art.
I am able to achieve hyper realism and my most valued pieces are usually portraits, but I have experience in abstract paintings as well as landscapes and still lifes.

Teaching Experience:
I am a professional portrait and figure artist. I specialise in a variety of mediums including pencil, pastel, and oil painting. I have been teaching for 5 years to private students varying in different ages ranges from 8 years old to 70 years. These lessons have been either just for fun as a hobby progression, to help students for creative degrees, or for groups in workshops.

Drawing is amazingly fun and therapeutic and if we don't have the tools to connect the dots, we can find it frustrating and stressful. I am here to show you how to connect the dots so you can draw confidently on your own.

My method of teaching is always catered to the student's needs and abilities. For example, if a student is a beginner and they want to learn how to draw realistically, I would show them how to understand the principles before we try to draw straight away.

To understand nature, we must understand how to see in order to translate that onto our paper.
If a student is more advanced, we will look at what really inspires them and how we can push their abilities by looking at the finer details, whether that is refining a good drawing to become more realistic, the equipment quality, or the tiny nuances in the line direction that need tweaking. We should always keep pushing ourselves and learning from what we do so I fully encourage people to embrace their mistakes and enjoy the process over the finished result.

When I conducted a stone carving workshop at NIE( National Institute of Education) in Singapore, where I taught students how to transfer 2D ideas to 3D but carving directly onto limestone, it can be an upheaval task for students but to scaffold them to visualise their plan, see through the process from beginning to the end, problem-solving, tweaking, translating the 2D idea into 3D effectively, seeing them succeed and execute, gave me the feeling of satisfaction and joy. I realise then this is what I want to do, to teach. It was very different from an artist satisfaction.

My approach is to find out the strength as interest of my students and to guide them to develop them and also to work ideas and think through their narratives and purpose of their work of art or art project. Every student is different and I would contribute by imparting skills such as observation, analytical cognitive processes, technical ability such as drawing, painting, sculpting. Also, to help students consider the story and the art-making that would best express and communicate the intended narrative. To gain knowledge about the medium through experimentation, execution considering composition, and art elements as simple as lines that are essential and part of the creative process in learning aesthetics by exposing the students to look at various art forms and observe our daily grind from everyday life. Enabling students to communicate, to articulate the value art can give and impact our society. I want to facilitate learning and journey with my students to become independent, comfortable and satisfied with the creative process of creating their artworks innovatively. Recently, I have been researching and exploring digital means and understanding what this means in today's world and culture.

As well as being a full-time private tutor for nearly 15 years, I have a background in comedy, writing and performance. I've published three humour books and continue to write for theatre companies and private events. I also love art and illustration, and try incorporate this into my teaching where possible - for all ages! I currently live in South-West London with my husband and two young children.

Since 2010 I have taught hundreds of students aged 3 to adult, including high-profile clients, international placements, EFL pupils & students with complex learning needs. I am an active artist with decades of experience and a studio in the Southeast London area.
Classically educated to Masters level and able to utilise different mediums and techniques to produce paintings, sculptures or models.
I specialise in oil on canvas and have a style described as a mixture of Monet and Constable.
I also possess my own DIY handmade roto casting machine for producing plaster and resin models.

Painting has always been my favourite medium. Still-life, landscapes, portraits, anything. However, I have an affinity towards boats, animals, wildlife, and nature in general.

Following experience as a substitute teacher, I have gone on to provide in person tuition to children and adults for the past few years.
