ART: I like to find out as much as I can about my students before beginning to teach them. I like to meet them and see their portfolios. My name is Josephine and I'm 32 years old. I'm Danish but have lived in London since 2014 when I did my BA in Fine Art.
I have a Master's Degree in Animation Film from The Royal College of Art.
The past 8 months I've lived in Hebden Bridge between Manchester and Leeds to open our first Studio in FedUP Studio Lab, the production company where I work part time. My role is producer and assistant creative director. I'm a freelancer director in the company as well.
I'm currently living in London where I also arrange workshops in art and animation with galleries, UAL and FedUP Studio Lab. I'm enthusiastic, and I have a great love for knowledge and teaching as much as making films and art.

I enjoy tutoring because the process between student and tutor is wonderful. I learn just as much as my students and when you have worked hard for a while and start to see a shift in their behaviour when studying - understanding or producing - and they end up challenging you or teaching you instead, that is absolutely fantastic. It is the curiosity, development, hard work and shared knowledge.

For 2 years I have taught jewellery making in Copenhagen as part of my job in a big jewellery shop.
For 4 years I was head of a regional department of Red Cross Youth in Denmark where I taught my 20 volunteers charity work, management, activity and project management. Besides managing all of our services and activities, collaborating with all the public schools and libraries and running the department in close communication with our headquarter, I also participated in some of our school clubs and activities as a volunteer, tutoring kids and youngsters with dyslexia and kids from challenging homes.

Tutoring Approach:
Not one child, teenager or adult is the same. I believe in one-to-one tutoring so students get the special attention they require and get the best out of my lessons. My lessons are tailored to whatever the student require.

Depending on subject, the lesson-plan varies and the workload too. I make sure I know what the purpose of the lesson is so to understand what goal we want to achieve. Is it long-term learning, is it a portfolio with a specific deadline, or preparations for an interview. Is it more about giving a child the time and need to understand and enjoy learning or are we working from a school designed curriculum with specific topics, scores and exams. As a youngster I always enjoyed art and sold my first paintings in my early teens. I then trained and studied the history of art at Maidstone College of Art and at The University of Wales.

After a career in graphic design & communications I re-started my career as an artist in 2014. I have been a member of various art groups for several years and I have been fortunate to win awards at local art exhibitions.

I paint landscapes and figurative subjects in a suggestive and vibrant style, and draw inspiration from mood and atmosphere in the world around me. I exhibit and sell locally and my work is gaining in popularity in local galleries. I also run workshops.

I am inspired by my contemporaries who push the boundaries of their respective media. I am also often reminded of my early successes and the artists who inspired me as a student. My goals are to find new surprises by combining persistence with experimentation and 'happy accident'.

I have been running weekly adult acrylic painting mini-workshops since February 2022. These have proved popular with beginners and experienced painters alike. I have also given one-to-one private tuition to several adult students.

I taught advanced life drawing classes at Ericaceous Art School in Dorking, worked for a special royal family, and also for Toyota, UK. Teaching Art is my true passion which I've honed and strengthened for over 20yrs. I`m as dedicated now as ever in sharing Art skills with creative learners.

I founded my art company in 2017 in Reigate. Over a few years I grew our community of like minded Art tutors and students coming together to share our Art passion. Outgrowing our first studio, Covid lockdowns created an opportunity to move to a beautiful studio space. We developed and diversified our Art tuition offering. We won `Social Impact` category at Reigate & Banstead Business Awards, and RBBC Entrepreneur Academy in 2022. As well as providing Art Tuition for over 100 students per week, we created murals, teamed with ESDAS, worked in schools and for charities, held Open Days and special Art events, and most importantly made connections with so many wonderful local families and individuals. I know anything is possible, failures are welcome, and we create our own definitions of success.

Artist: I loved making when I was little, although my creations rarely won the many Art competitions I entered! I drew my dreams, my sleeping father, doodled in church, and copied cartoons. I paint regularly in my home Art Studio in Reigate; Art is a life time journey for me.

Mother: My daughters are teenagers now and it`s a privilege to have two girls with whom to share each and every day. Motherhood is an amazing experience which opened up my understanding of people and strengthened my teaching and learning methods. I am an RCA MA Painting graduate, and I have a BA(Hons) degree in Fine Art from Westminster University, and a Foundation diploma in Art & Design from the University for the Creative Arts. I am a practicing artist based in London, specializing in painting, and I have been showing my work nationally and internationally. My recent solo show was at Class Reiss London, and I also had a solo presentation at Art Athina. My fascination with tutoring derives from my sensitivity around learning disabilities, something which is a recurring theme in my practice as I grew up as a dyslexic learner, as well as my educational experience of being part of leading academic UK institutions.

I am an active artist with decades of experience and a studio in the Southeast London area.
Classically educated to Masters level and able to utilise different mediums and techniques to produce paintings, sculptures or models.
I specialise in oil on canvas and have a style described as a mixture of Monet and Constable.
I also possess my own DIY handmade roto casting machine for producing plaster and resin models.

Painting has always been my favourite medium. Still-life, landscapes, portraits, anything. However, I have an affinity towards boats, animals, wildlife, and nature in general.

Following experience as a substitute teacher, I have gone on to provide in person tuition to children and adults for the past few years.
