I am a retired graphic designer/partner in design consultancies and magazine art director, now a painter and photographer.

I have exhibited in the Painters Hall, Guildhall Gallery, Oxford Art Fair and Dorking Group of Artists.

I have taken a number of photographic portraits and commercial commissions and photographed for annual reports and printed materials.

Teaching Experience:
I have been a visiting lecturer to a number of Universities, Art and Graphic Design and Digital photography.

Tutoring Approach:
ART: I like to find out as much as I can about my students before beginning to teach them. I like to meet them and see their portfolios. My first duty is to make sure that drawing is taught to an academic standard before more creative work is undertaken. Mostly I teach representative art but am happy to encourage abstract and conceptual work.

PHOTOGRAPHY: I have a wide experience of taking and manipulating digital imagery. I have an understanding of chemical photography techniques that are transferred to Photoshop and RAW imaging.

I currently Subject Lead in Art and Design in a secondary school in Bishops Stortford and have a first class honours degree in Illustration and extensive skills in digital media including web design, image manipulation and design for print. Particular strengths of mine are life drawing and painting. I also have skills in textiles, quilt making, sewing and other crafts. Through drawing in either pencil, charcoal, ink or pen I take my work forward into 3D materials and use photography as a major influence to inform my structures. I also do photography for my own enjoyment, specifically looking at landscape and architectural photography. My name is Josephine and I'm 32 years old. I'm Danish but have lived in London since 2014 when I did my BA in Fine Art.
I have a Master's Degree in Animation Film from The Royal College of Art.
The past 8 months I've lived in Hebden Bridge between Manchester and Leeds to open our first Studio in FedUP Studio Lab, the production company where I work part time. My role is producer and assistant creative director. I'm a freelancer director in the company as well.
I'm currently living in London where I also arrange workshops in art and animation with galleries, UAL and FedUP Studio Lab. I'm enthusiastic, and I have a great love for knowledge and teaching as much as making films and art.

I enjoy tutoring because the process between student and tutor is wonderful. I learn just as much as my students and when you have worked hard for a while and start to see a shift in their behaviour when studying - understanding or producing - and they end up challenging you or teaching you instead, that is absolutely fantastic.
