Tutoring Approach:
I tailor my lesson plans according to each individual as I believe that every student's learning is different. It is important for me to be able to communicate with my students, to understand their needs and to plan an Individual Educational Plan (IEP)to accommodate the requirements of each pupil. Resources are provided to reinforce learner's knowledge and homework is set weekly. Tests are held regularly to assess student's progress. When teaching Art to KS3, the fundamental values in Art are taught thoroughly to enable pupils to master techniques which will enhance their natural progression into KS4. At KS4, supporting pupil's art work through teaching them skills and principles to unlock their creative potential and develop further more their drawing and painting skills. My passion for Art, Crafts and Design has been of paramount importance to me and sharing my knowledge and skills to all learners in these subjects.I have been drawing, painting and designing for over 40 years. I qualified as a Printed Textile Designer from Polytechnic of East London, on the BA Hons in Combined Studies Course.

From this I gained a valuable insight into the fashion and textiles industry, working with design studios. My love for creating designs continued on to the Masters Degree course at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, where I worked for Terence Conan Design Studios.

I developed an excellent rapport with artists and designers in the industry and decide, after several years of working for top high Street retailers as a fashion and textile designer, to build my own company up whilst teaching in Further Education. I became Head of the Fashion and Textiles Course in a top London college. Here all my students on the BTEC Diploma Level 3 and Level 4 courses gained work placements with Vivienne Westwood, Zandra Rhodes and many more. Many entered into their first choice Universities with my knowledge of putting their portfolios together and teaching life drawings to accompany their portfolios.

After having taught Fashion, Textiles and Art and Design for many years, I decided to challenge my other passion in Fitness. With my qualifications as Tutor and Assessor, I began delivering gym and personsal training courses to 16 to 18 year olds and 19 plus learners.

I was an art scholar at school, and studied Illustration (BA Hons) in Cambridge. Design and craft have always been a part of my career, but I began drawing again a few years ago now, during the evenings after my daughter had gone to bed and I was immediately reminded of the therapeutic effects drawing and being creative can be, especially for a creative mind.

I posted a couple on Instagram and they were sold within minutes. Since then, I have had the most amazing commission requests for the inks and over the last year have been commissioned several times to draw women during their later stages of pregnancy - such an intimate time to commemorate, each one is incredibly special.
The nudes evoke different energies, feelings, emotions - celebrating all bodies, all curves, and all that a body can do and enjoy.

I work across all media - sculpting is a huge favourite of mine, along with botanical watercolours, and portrait sketches.

I would love to help those wanting to explore art in general, understand the basics, explore different styles and find a new outlet. For those wanting to improve, I would also love to help.

I have 12 years' experience teaching Art & Design in secondary schools, including 3 years as Head of Art. I'm confident in the requirements of the major UK exam boards and have extensive experience supporting students through GCSE and A-Level Art, as well as GCSE Photography.

I now teach adults alongside tutoring and maintain my own creative practice, allowing me to bring both current practical experience and extensive teaching experience to my lessons.
