I have been the Head of Accounting since 2006, at a large Catholic Sixth Form College in Hulme, Manchester. I am 46 years old, living in Didsbury, South Manchester. I gained my degree in Economics and Finance in 1998 from Leicester University. I began teaching in 2002 so have many years of experience teaching Accounting.

I mainly offer tuition at my home, or a local library, either at the weekend, or weekday evenings. However, I am usually able to offer tuition during the school/college holidays.

I completed my PGCE at Manchester University in 2002. I only teach Accounting AS and A2 Level, and this is therefore my main specialism. Also, many tutors seem to offer tuition in a wide variety of subjects. Are they really specialists in so many different subjects? I am an Accounting specialist, and only offer tuition in Accounting or the Finance elements of a Business course. If you need a Maths tutor, then hire a Maths specialist. I am a dedicated tutor that seeks to provide detailed classroom activities that allow students to reach their potential. I have experience within the accounting industry and keep my knowledge relevant by working 1 morning per week in an accounting role, covering profit margins, payroll and invoicing.

Teaching Experience:
I have 8 years experience as a tutor and have covered all levels of AAT from level 1 to level 4. I am dedicated to the students and provide a wide range of activities to allow each student to understand, based on their personal learning style. I stay relevant with the awarding body by keeping up annual CPD and attending the regional events for both adult learners and apprentices.

Tutoring Approach:
I bring lots of experience to the role and approach each student individually depending on their learning style. I will adapt my teaching style on evaluation of the students needs. Due to my hands on approach and up to date knowledge, I bring life experiences to the classroom to allow the students to understand the affects of journals and book keeping entries on the business or the statements that they will produce.
