Born in Thessaloniki, Greece in 1981, Andreas started his classical guitar studies at the age of seven, under the tuition of Anastasios Amiridis. He completed his guitar diploma at the Municipal Conservatory of Thessaloniki in 2002 receiving the highest mark.

Andreas then continued with his education obtaining a Bachelor and Master's degree in music from Ionian University of Greece. He has also a Postgraduate title from Mozarteum University in Salzburg, Austria.

There have been many famous and distinguished guitarists that Andreas studied with or attended master classes such as Leo Brouwer, Eliot Fisk, Ricardo Gallen, Jorge Morel, Ε. Αsimakopoulos, Marco Tamayo, Costas Cotsiolis, David Russell.

Andreas has accomplished many goals within his musical career. He has won several National and International contest prizes. He was invited as a soloist in many festivals like the 4th Congress Association of Southeastern Guitarists, Naxos Guitar Festival, Evangelos Asimakopoulos guitar festival in Patras etc.

He has performed as a soloist guitar player as well as accompanied by Chamber music or by Orchestras. One of Andreas career highlights came in October 2008 when he played in Athens Concert Hall with the Athens Camerata-string Orchestra in front of HRH Princess Irene of Spain.

Since 2008 he has begun making his own transcriptions of works by composers of the wider musical repertoire on the guitar. As of July 1st 2010 the release of his first personal CD called "Classical Styles for Today" is ready for purchase.

My name is Andy. I finished my A-Levels in 2011 and am preparing to study German and Russian at The University of Cambridge starting in October. I excelled at languages in school, receiving an A* in German A2 and an A in French AS. Between school and university I studied at the Goethe Institute in Berlin, lived and worked in Germany for over half a year, and am now starting to learn Russian and pusuing my other interests such as computer programming. I taught my son Japanese singlehandedly from home without outside help and he got A* for both Japanese GCSE and A level. As a psychology graduate (before studying maths at university level), I have a fascination with how students themselves will approach a maths problem, and I'm good at allowing them to explore and develop their own ideas. I find they almost always have energy and enthusiasm for, say, a ratio or algebra problem, if they are allowed to explore it with appropriate visual imagery.
