Personal Description:
I am a fully qualified Mathematics teacher currently working in an inner city secondary in Liverpool.
I graduated from the University of Liverpool with an honours degree in Mathematics and Financial Economics and have also completed a further Mathematics course at Liverpool Hope University.
My background in Mathematical education has provided me with the knowledge and skills to teach students of all ages and different abilities.
I have been tutoring for the past 12 years now, both independently and for a private agency, with a proven track record in gaining the results required by each of my students.

Teaching Experience:
I currently work in a secondary school in the Liverpool area and I have worked in the schools for the past 12 years teaching pupils in classes, small tuition groups and on a one to one basis.
I have an extensive knowledge in preparing pupils for exams, whether it be secondary school entry exams, GCSE or A-level. This has come from working in various schools doing intervention classes, both independently and as part of my further Maths course in University.
As well as teaching in the UK I have been fortunate enough to go on a charity project to India over the summer holidays where i was able to teach in two Tibetan school, which has given me a wider perspective on teaching.

Tutoring Approach:
The first session is always used to get the know the student, find out what they want, what their strengths and weaknesses are and how we can develop these to reach our target grade/level. This is done by creating a relaxed, friendly atmosphere where the student can feel they are able to approach me with any problems or queries. By finding out the above information and creating such an atmosphere, i am then able to build their confidence and understanding in Mathematics.
I also aim to use the same approaches as i do in my classroom, where the students can see how they are doing and how to reach the next level. Regularly little assessments will take place as evidence of pupil progression.
Pupils will be encouraged to try hard and aim to reach the highest possible grade they can.

Mireia is a bass player based in London since 2013, she graduated as a bass player at Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (Barcelona, Spain) on 2010 and she moved to Netherlands.

Since 2002 she's been working as a music tutor till nowadays and she performed with several bands in Spain, Netherlands and UK.

Throughout her career Mireia worked as a bass player in a dance orchestra, musical theater, circus company and she played with jazz, funk pop and world music bands.

She studied with bass players as Jordi Ruiz, Ignasi Zamora, Gary Willis, Josep Pérez Cucurella; the piano player Ignasi Terraza and did a mentoring program with drummer Lucas van Merwijk.

I have more than 8 years of experience as a music teacher (all ages) in private music schools from Spain (Barcelona), I've worked with early years kids (from 3 to 5 years old) ,I've worked as a self-employed music tutor in Netherlands during 2 years and I'm working as music teacher at Norwood Green Junior School and private music tutor .

Tutoring Approach:
I like to adapt the lessons to student needs in order to improve their level and help them to enjoy their learning process. I teach bass guitar for beginners, intermediate and advanced level, and guitar for beginners. I also offer music theory lessons for everyone who has interest to understand the music language, learn to read scores or create its own songs.

I have over two years experience teaching English in South Korea and Thailand, both in schools and private lessons working with children, teenagers and adults.

My music studies began at the age of 9 with classical piano.
Since 1990 I began studying and playing as a keyboards and bass player in many different music's styles bands.

During my music studies I also had the chance to attend several masterclasses in improvisation, music harmony and theory with important musicians as: George Garzone, Bob Brookmeyer, Ayn Inserto, Scott Henderson, Gary Willis, John Stowell, Bob Mintzer, Dave Holland, Kurt Rosenwinkel and more.

Since 1997 I'm teaching in several schools and as a private tutor piano, keyboards, guitar and drums for beginners. Bass guitar and Music Theory for all levels.

I currently work in a 6th form college in Warrington where I teach and have taught a range of maths courses. This includes functional skills, engineering maths as well as the new specification GCSE and A level qualifications.

My ability to explain maths is one of my greatest strengths which I can do both verbally and in writing.

As well as being a teacher I am also an approved author for Pearson and I am part of the authoring team at Hodder where I have recently co-authored an iGCSE revision guide which will be available early 2019.

Tutoring Approach:
When it comes to tutoring it is important for me to determine what students are finding difficult and work on those areas. I do require students to complete any work that I have set and I always provide an email/mobile for students to contact me out of the tutoring session to go over any difficulties that they may have.

It is important to keep the tutee positive and to provide lots of encouragement to them especially if they are not particular keen at studying maths.

I am an experienced personal assistant with excellent communication skills. Currently, I am working part-time. Therefore, I would like to make myself useful and tutor students that require some Computer Study guidance. With more than 10 years of experience of operating a computer system, I will be able to provide the best understanding for the students. Hello! My name is Josh and I am looking forward to connecting with you. I am a graduate of languages from the University of Leeds (graduated in 2017) and a qualified MFL teacher (graduated in 2021). I speak Spanish, Catalan, French and Italian, and I have a good range of tutoring experience in the past for GCSE, A-Level and adult learners. I have been a qualified teacher for over a year, having worked predominantly in the Tameside region of Manchester. I completed my training with a School Direct course led by a school that was last rated OFSTED 'Outstanding', and then continued my teaching career in that same school as maternity cover. I have been teaching languages in the UK for the past 25 years and pride myself in helping my students achieve their dream of studying Russian at Oxbridge and other Russel group universities.
