I am passionate about teaching languages, mostly orientals, and also coaching martial arts and self defence. I coach the IWTA-EWTO-WingTsun 梁挺詠春拳.

In the first 12 weeks of the beginners program you'll learn the basics for a proactive and "pre-emptive" self defence and to deal with the most "common" types of attacks. This is the Blitz-Defence program.

Afterward you start a more sophisticated training program where you learn to deal with an aggressor in a less violent way by using our unique tactile skills training method.

I can assure you, you will terminate every lesson by learning something new and useful! All I need is your concentration.

Due to the contact nature of this martial art I cam only teach in person and not online

Teaching Experience:
Currently tutoring Italian (advanced level) and Japanese (basic level) in all the 4 skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking).

January 2012 - PRESENT: I have been teaching Italian language since January 2012 on 1-2-1 base and via skype when I am abroad.

February 2012 - April 2012: I taught Japanese language for absolute beginners via skype.

April 2010 - February 2012: I taught at The Mill Languages School, in Macclesfield town centre: Mandarin, Japanese, German. In particular I have taught German language to a tailored group to refresh their skills.

August 2015 - 2016. Tutoring Japanese language to beginner level via skype. I taught to school teachers who are planning to travel to Japan and teach English, they need a minimum fluency to go by.

....however; nothing can beat the experience I have matured over these past 2 years. I need your full committment over a term period (3 months). Each 1-2-1 class has to be booked. I combine the Kungfu system with my experience in working with body awareness and body technique at contact.
This is a very diverse method of teaching in comparison to the mainstream as it involves not just the purely choreographic aspect but a more comprehensive.

I'm a professional maths tutor with 14 years and many thousands of hours of experience of providing effective 1-1 maths tuition. I have a Cambridge maths degree, an abiding love for maths and a passion to help students enjoy and master maths for themselves!

I teach A-level mathematics and further mathematics, including IB and Cambridge Pre-U, and coach students for STEP, MAT and TMUA. I've prepared students for exams from all the major exam boards, including Edexcel, AQA, OCR, OCR-MEI, WJEC, Cambridge Pre-U and IB. Tutoring Approach:
More than almost any other subject, maths needs confidence to be built, and a patient, individually tailored approach. Able students may need practice to strengthen problem-solving and eliminate errors, a more joined-up view of maths to deepen their understanding, and challenge to stretch their capabilities. Others find A-level maths harder going, and an imaginative and pictorial approach with plenty of real world examples is needed to achieve that "penny drops" moment!

Depending on the student, tuition may include any or all of: coaching to consolidate (or anticipate) teaching at school; revision for examinations; working through past examination papers; teaching and testing of specific sections of the curriculum; or more free-wheeling exploration of mathematical topics. I am Marwa, a native Arabic speaker from Egypt. I have over 14 years of experience teaching Arabic language and Holy Quran for non-natives. I used to dive in this amazing language to taste its beauty and discover its treasures. This passion led me to change my career as a software engineer to be an Arabic teacher. I am a successful local tutor and teacher with an MA in Education from Oxford Brookes University (2016), a Postgraduate Diploma in English and Language in Education from the University of Reading (2012). Welcome to my Page! I'm Tyrone. I'm glad you're here. Education can transform lives, and teachers help facilitate this. I speak from personal experience about this. My teachers did not see an academic career for me at school - and they did very little to help me change this. I was considered a low achiever and expected to be a plumber like my father. There is nothing wrong with plumbing; it just wasn't for me. If you've read this far, I hope you will continue as I map out my journey.

I left school with a list of low-grade GCSEs and 1 A-Level - yes, it was Biology! I had no hope of going to university with these grades, so I got my first job testing soil samples. Still determined to study science at university, I enrolled on several open university (OU) courses. I did well on the OU, which allowed me to study Immunology at King's College, London. I did this after spending three years as a medical laboratory assistant in the NHS, my second job.

After graduating from King's with a BSc degree and a fascination with cancer biology, I joined Newcastle University. I spent the next four years researching anti-cancer drugs' effects on DNA. I successfully developed novel ways to measure the level of anti-cancer drugs stuck to DNA. It was a great day when the Royal Society of Chemistry published my work. The Royal Society of Biology rewarded my academic and research experience with the Chartered Biologist status. Charted Biologist is the recognition of professional competence.

On returning home to Wales, I had my first taste of teaching 16 to 19-year-olds - and I loved it. However, teaching at Bridgend College was only for maternity cover, and my contract soon ended. My next position was with Loreal (yes, I am worth It) as a microbiologist. Loreal was great as it was a weekend position and allowed me to teach part-time at Gower College Swansea during the week.

I have spent the last 17 years teaching A-Level Biology at Gower College Swansea full time. During this time, I qualified as a teacher from the University of Wales with a PGCE. The Biology department is highly successful and renowned. The department has a 100% pass rate and grades well above the national average. I learned so much here about helping people with their education. It was where I saw firsthand how a teacher could facilitate the real transformational effects of education. Transitioning from GCSE to A-Level Biology can be overwhelming for students due to the abundance of new concepts, words, and facts. This transition is often referred to as the "big step up." Students may feel confused, frustrated, and disappointed when progress seems lacking or test results are unsatisfactory.

I teach my students that progress occurs incrementally through consistent effort and active learning strategies. With my guidance, their efforts will compound, leading to rapid advancement. This approach makes the learning process more enjoyable and less stressful. I focus on establishing solid foundations, good study habits, and providing support.

Embracing Failure and Mistakes:
My understanding of the struggle and the value of failure sets me apart as a tutor. Although failure can be discouraging, it is crucial for making improvements. With my guidance, I help students turn failures and mistakes into valuable learning experiences.

Ensuring accessibility to biology with all its complexities is paramount to me. My experience as an examiner and teacher and my diverse science background qualify me to provide the highest quality tuition. Creating a warm and friendly atmosphere in my lessons is essential to fostering an environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions, explore, and embrace their curiosity.

Learning should never be dull; instead, it should be an exciting journey of discovery and growth. To ensure success in A-Level biology, I infuse my teaching with engaging activities, relatable examples, and stories that captivate students' interest.

Personal Description:
I am a Cambridge Mathematics graduate and experienced Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Physics tutor with ten years of private tutoring and teaching experience.

My academic background spans Mathematics, Physics and energy policy. I studied Mathematics at the University of Cambridge, completed an MSc in High-Energy Physics, Astrophysics and Cosmology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, and am completing a UCL PhD in energy policy. I am also an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA) and a published academic.

I achieved five A*s at A-level in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, including full marks across my Mathematics and Further Mathematics modules.

I specialise particularly in A-level and IB Mathematics, Further Mathematics and advanced problem-solving, although I also teach GCSE/IGCSE Mathematics, Physics, STEP, MAT, Digital SAT Mathematics, AP examinations, 11+ and other school and university entrance examinations.

Students I have supported have gone on to universities including Cambridge, Oxford, Imperial, UCL, King's College London, Durham, Princeton, Harvard and MIT.

I am calm and encouraging, but also highly organised and results-focused. I particularly enjoy seeing students develop the confidence and independence to tackle problems they previously thought were beyond them.

All of my private tuition is now delivered online.

Teaching Experience:
I have ten years of tutoring and teaching experience across Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics and entrance examinations.

My school-level experience includes GCSE/IGCSE, European Baccalaureate, A-level, IB, Pre-U, STEP, MAT, Digital SAT Mathematics, AP examinations, 11+ and selective-school entrance examinations.

I have repeatedly helped students improve by two or more grades. Previous examples include students moving from U to B, D to A and C to A*. I have also supported students through MAT and STEP before they went on to read Mathematics at Oxford and Cambridge.

Alongside private tutoring, I have taught Mathematics and Further Mathematics in high-school and sixth-form settings from Years 10-13. My responsibilities included working with the Head of Mathematics to structure the A-level curriculum, adapting lessons for students who were either falling behind or progressing beyond the expected level, and working across different examination boards.

I have extensive university teaching experience, including at UCL and New York University Abu Dhabi. I am an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA), recognising my teaching practice in higher education.

I have also tutored internationally, including extensive work with students in Berlin and Barcelona. This has given me experience across British, IB, European and US curricula.

At university level, my experience includes calculus, differential methods, mechanics, dynamics and relativity, vectors and matrices, vector calculus, complex methods, variational principles, quantum mechanics, classical dynamics, cosmology, statistical physics and general relativity.

Tutoring Approach:
My approach begins with diagnosis. When I start working with a student, I establish where they currently stand relative to their syllabus or admissions requirements and identify what is actually limiting their progress.

The same disappointing result can have very different causes: missing foundational knowledge, fragile algebra, difficulty recognising which method applies, inaccurate execution, poor examination timing or a lack of confidence with unfamiliar questions. I use recent work and carefully selected problems to distinguish between these before developing a longer-term plan.

I then build understanding before turning it into efficient technique. I want students to understand why a method works, when it applies and how it connects with ideas they already know.

Students do as much of the reasoning as possible themselves. I use questioning, staged prompts and progressively harder problems rather than simply demonstrating solutions for them to imitate. As the student's understanding improves, I deliberately reduce the amount of support I provide.

Mistakes are treated diagnostically. We identify whether an error came from understanding, recognising the appropriate method, algebraic execution, interpretation of the question or examination strategy. This allows us to address recurring problems rather than repeatedly correcting isolated answers.

For high-attaining students, Further Mathematics and admissions candidates, I place particular emphasis on unfamiliar problems, sustained mathematical arguments and learning how to recover when an initial approach fails.

As examinations approach, we combine this with detailed work on timing, question interpretation, method selection, clear working, checking and targeted past-paper practice.

My ultimate goal is not to make students dependent on tuition. It is to help them become increasingly confident and independent mathematicians who can diagnose their own difficulties and approach demanding work with greater control.
