Personal Description:
I am a 33 year old ICT teacher and I am in my 12th year of ICT/Computing and Business teaching. I have taught in both schools and college, and teach a range of qualifications including OCR Technicals, HNC, BTEC Nationals, GCSE's, OCR Nationals, OCR GCSE and OCR iMedia. I have also taught a higher level foundation degree programme. I am easy to get along with and put a lot of my success down to forging a positive relationship with each student. I have studied and taught a variety of Business and Geography modules as well and have confidence in teaching this to degree level. In recent months I have written my first textbook for a BTEC GCSE qualification along with writing specifications for OCR qualifications. In my spare time I coach a local under 16's football side in Kidderminster.

Using custom digital learning tools, you will be exposed to a hands on approach to learning the concepts behind maths and computing. My lessons begin with a visual presentation explaining the focus topic, followed by interactive exercises that help you to experiment, express and reinforce your understanding. With my support and collaboration, each exercise challenges you to describe and refine your thinking process to solve a puzzle using the skills taught in the presentation.

Once you are confident in your ability, the lesson progresses to applying your understanding of the concepts to creating and understanding written notation and code. This stage of the lesson prepares you with the ability to work with exam questions and other assessments that you are preparing for.

The most important component of effective tuition is your ability to practise between lessons. To help you gain the most benefit from my tuition, the digital learning exercises are made available to you as a practise tool between lessons. Teaching Experience:
I am a fully qualified teacher of English (secondary trained), with a degree in my subject. I have eight years experience of teaching English up to Key Stage 5. I also possess an MA in Creative Writing, as well as a CELTA qualification to teach students with English as a second/foreign language.

I possess qualifications from Russell group universities, Queen Mary University of London (BA English - 2.1) and King`s College London (PGCE English 11-18) in addition, my MA is from Birkbeck University of London.

I have worked as a marker for NFER and AQA - I therefore know what examiners are looking for at SATs and GCSE level. Exam specifications I have taught include AQA, Edexcel and OCR at GCSE level, and Edexcel at Functional Skills level. I have up to.date knowledge of the new 9-1 GCSE English specification, as I regularly mark for AQA.

My teaching experience encompasses whole class teaching, as well as small group/intervention work and one to one tuition. I have worked with primary school children in Key Stages 1 and 2 (for maths and English), as well as secondary and students in further education, including adults.

Tutoring Approach:
I tailor my tuition sessions to suit my tutees. The first thing I do is find out their learning style, as well as carry out a diagnostic assessment. That way, I am able to ascertain the tutee's strengths and weaknesses, and we can both decide on the best way forward, with targets to be reviewed every lesson.

Personally, I have a passion for English Literature and foreign languages and work hard for my students to achieve the best possible results.

I'm currently working in finance for Molson Coors, having previously worked in external audit for PwC for 4 years where I obtained my ACA qualification.
Prior to this I was a student studying Economics at the University of Birmingham, where I achieved a first level BSc. I am interested in sharing some of the things I have learnt over my years in education with others, which is why I'm keen to tutor. I have previously mentored students throughout secondary school and really enjoyed it. Apart from university my other interests include; playing netball and renovating my house.

Teaching Experience:
I have previously mentored students through their GCSEs and Alevels at secondary school and really enjoyed it. I am the coach of a netball team so this also gives me skills which help to make me a better tutor such as patience, organisation and effective communication skills.

I believe tutoring is the responsibility of both the tutor and the tutee. I would like to plan sessions which are stimulating, engaging and involve ideas bouncing between the two of us, whether that is through debate, discussions or question and answer sessions. I graduated from university in China with a major in Journalism. I worked for more than five years at provincial and municipal television stations in China as a presenter, and I obtained certification in the National Putonghua Proficiency Test. In order to further enhance my skills, I pursued a Master's degree in International Business at a university in the UK, which I successfully completed. From the above, it can be seen that my proficiency in Chinese comes from my background in Journalism, while my international perspective is derived from studying International Business at the Master's level.

My Chinese teaching method primarily involves using both English and Chinese simultaneously. For beginner students, English is used more frequently than Chinese. However, as teaching progresses and students' proficiency in Chinese improves, Chinese gradually becomes the dominant language. Of course, the use of both languages varies randomly and is never fixed.

In classroom, I practice different teaching methods e.g. entertaining and interactive lectures and follow through induction, these effectively stimulate students' interest and enthusiasm in learning Chinese.

Being a structural engineer, mathematics encompasses a large part of my life. With all my experience I will be able to help your child overcome any difficulties they have with mathematics currently.

I have been tutoring high school students mathematics for the past 8 years both privately in one on one situations as well as being a boarding house tutor in many private schools in New Zealand.

Having sat A-Levels in New Zealand and gaining an `A` for A-level mathematics, I have a good understanding of what is required to prepare for these exams.

I like to open a project with multiple solutions or approaches and discuss which is the option that stands out most. Then develop and evolve this choice into a more substantial solution. I find that using visual aids, such as power points really help, as well as using video examples where necessary. My approach is to identify the students need whether that's understanding the content fully or being able to apply their knowledge to exam questions. Or indeed whether the student needs to practise structuring their writing to more clearly align with the mark schemes from the examiner. In addition some students need support organising themselves and planning their revision. I believe it should complement and enhance their school work in a positive way.
