I am available to tutor up to any level of Spanish or Portuguese, as well as up to GCSE level French or Maths.

Teaching Experience:
I`m an experienced classroom teacher available for Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Maths tuition.
I studied BSc Accounting with Spanish before taking my PGCE, and I have experience of tutoring English to Spanish schoolchildren as a language assistant, and also of tutoring English to individuals privately in their own homes.
I am now a full time teacher of Spanish, French and Portuguese in one of the top boarding schools in England, having previously worked in an "outstanding" secondary school, where I tutored children (one-to-one) in Maths after school, after having completed a short course in one-to-one tutoring provided by Hertfordshire LEA.
I have also completed an MEd in Educational Psychology, as well as the CCRS qualification.

As a former Deputy Headteacher of a north Wales primary school, I have 12 years of teaching KS1 and KS2. I spent much of this time working with children with SEND. I have created different strategies for learning Mandarin depending on the age and language level of the students. For example, I have carefully picked some topics from official Chinese school teaching books, and some lovely popular traditional Chinese stories, then combined them with the real life and work environment around us. So that I can make sure all my students got plenty opportunities to practise what they have learnt from me.

In the first lesson, I would give the pupils an assessment, which allows me to identify their gaps in the curriculum. I would then focus on filling the gaps in future tuition sessions. In the beginning of each lesson, pupils are tested on prior knowledge to ensure they can recall the information.

I break down a topic or question into smaller parts, and ensure pupils can then confidently apply the skill they have learnt to future questions. I use a variety of resources and teaching methods, making learning accessible for all.

My techniques involve exposing students to exam style questions throughout the tutoring experience to ensure they can apply the knowledge they have learnt. Other methods I use are spot the mistake, underlining key parts of a question, and linking topics to prior information.

I can set homework at the end of each session if the pupil wishes me to do so. Parents/carers are given feedback at the end of each session to ensure they are kept up to date.
