I am a full time A Level Physics and Mathematics teacher at a Tertiary College. We have about 50 students in each of years 12 and 13. 26 of our Physics students gained grade As at AS Level in 2006. 48% A and A* at A2 Level in June 2011. This is twice the Welsh average which puts us at the top of tree. 67% A*,A or B in 2012 in my class.Three of my students have won the Institute of Physics prize for the highest A Level marks in Wales with several gaining 600/600. I also teach A Level Mathematics (Pure, Mechanics and Statistics) and A Level Electronics. Previously I was head of Mathematics, Computing and Physical Sciences but I preferred teaching to administration so I returned to full-time teaching. I like to entertain and inspire! I teach students from the ages of 6 to 16 and pride myself on getting to know each student well and taking the time and effort to tailor each session to their learning needs.

I feel its important to motivate students and help increase their confidence. My name is Andy. I finished my A-Levels in 2011 and am preparing to study German and Russian at The University of Cambridge starting in October. I excelled at languages in school, receiving an A* in German A2 and an A in French AS. Between school and university I studied at the Goethe Institute in Berlin, lived and worked in Germany for over half a year, and am now starting to learn Russian and pusuing my other interests such as computer programming. I have also travelled extensively in France and Germany.

Teaching Experience:
I have no formal teaching experience (yet!) but learning three foreign languages myself and having studied German in a class actually taught in German, I am very familiar with the aspects of language that students have difficulty with. I am always thinking of better ways to explain things than the way they were explained to me, because every student learns in their own way; this makes me well placed to teach languages, German in particular due to my recent experiences in my gap year.

Having only recently completed my German GCSE myself (in 2009), I am familiar with the way it is taught in school. Hi. My name is Saif and I presently work as the Assistant Head of Science responsible for Chemistry at a school in London. I teach sciences at KS3, KS4 and deliver the 'A' Level Chemistry curriculum at KS5. I read Medicinal Chemistry at University College London and completed a PGCE in Science upon graduation. I am a Classicist with degrees from Cambridge (BA) and Durham (MA, PhD) universities and have been tutoring for over 10 years. My current work focuses heavily on Latin literature, as I am preparing to publish a commentary on Martial's twelfth book of epigrams, although I am equally able to offer assistance to students of classical Greek literature.

Tutoring Approach:
My approach to tuition will of course largely be dependent upon the needs and ability of the respective tutee. For GCSE or A-level students, however, I believe that it would always be best to begin each lesson with a quick test on a point of grammar and vocabulary, and a literary stylistic feature (e.g. identifying a chiasmus etc.), since these formal aspects essentially underlie the series of unseen exams from GCSE - A-level. After this test, each lesson should focus on a text, ideally alternating each lesson with a text that is prescribed as one of the set texts for the respective exams with an unseen passage. This approach tends to produce the best results since the unseen passages give a true indication of the student's strengths and weaknesses and help the tutor to understand more easily what aspects need to be prioritised.

Hi, I'm Ollie and I have recently qualified as a Dentist from the University of Bristol (BDS) where I am a student ambassador.
I'm a hard working academic student who also has a past competing at a high level in sport which means I am able to offer time efficient, effective learning slots between schooling and extra-curricular activities.
I have 5 years of university examination experience meaning I have an understanding of pre-exam worries and I know this would enable me to support students in this position and offer guidance on an underappreciated aspect of exams.

Teaching Experience:
I tutored during my GCSEs for years 7-10 in Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics. This taught me how to teach in a personal style, offering a safe space for group discussions on challenging topics whilst also identifying where individual students struggled.
