Hello, I am a private tutor available for one-to-one tuition in GCSE and A/AS-Level Maths and Physics, including remote online tuition.

I have a degree in Physics from Imperial College and a Masters in Astrophysics. I have a passion for these subjects and I love teaching others. I am a young and friendly tutor with an approach that students find relaxing and rewarding.

Teaching Experience:
I have tutored privately for over 15 years in Bath and London - a cumulative of over 25000 hours of one-to-one lessons. I also teach GCSE and A-level Physics, Maths and Further Maths at a Bath tutorial college.

Tutoring Approach:
I aim to provide a friendly and enthusiastic environment for learning. A relaxed student is key to productive learning.

I am a professional piano player with a degree in Music and Music Technology from Keele University. My work includes session playing, touring theatre shows, accompanying and teaching piano, keyboard or music theory lessons.

Teaching Experience:
I have previously worked as a piano/keyboard/music theory for Telford Music School (Jan 2010 - June 2011), teaching all ages and abilities, and I have spent the summers of 2011 and 2012 as the Theatre Assistant/Musical Director for Chateaugay Summer Camp in America. I currently offer private tutoring at pupils homes to fit in with my other professional work.

Tutoring Approach:
Every student is different and requires a different approach. I try hard to adapt for each pupil but my main concern is that they enjoy what they are playing/learning. During 2012/13 I worked at Levenshulme High school, an 11-16 girls school in Manchester, where I taught maths. Prior to this I worked at Burnage Media Arts College as a maths teacher and Astley Sports College as a maths teacher with extra responsibilities as the ICT coordinator and the gifted and talented coordinator for the whole school. From completing my degree to pursuing a career in teaching I raced as a semi-professional on the Great Britain National Cycling Squad. I have represented Great Britain at several World Championship events and also the 1998 Commonwealth Games. I have also gained gold medals at both World and National level over the last several years. I am also a member of Glossop mountain Rescue Team.

Teaching Experience:
I have been teaching Key Stage 3, GCSE and A Level maths for 13 years. I have taught in secondary schools in both Tameside and Manchester and also delivered one to one maths tuition throughout this period. I have extensive experience of teaching Edexcel and AQA syllabuses. I have specific experience of one to one tuition to convert grade D students at GCSE to a grade C. I have a Secondary teaching qualification and also an FE teaching qualification. I have a B.Sc honours degree in mathematics.

All programmes of study are tailored towards the specific needs of each student. It may be exam preparation, exam practise, exam revision or maths 'booster' sessions. I offer a friendly, supportive and affordable service. I use an extensive selection of resources to make learning fun and accessible to all students, whatever their needs. I am a graduate of the University of Huddersfield, where I studied 'Music and Sound For Image'. I achieved a first-class degree, as well as the 'Audio-visual prize' from my University for my work composing music to film.

I am confident, enthusiastic, friendly and get on well with students of all ages. I have worked at summer camps in the United States twice for 9 weeks each, living amongst 11-17 year olds 24/7 so have a great deal of patience! I am as open to teaching any young person who wants to learn and will adapt to whatever their needs and style of learning are.

I have led extra-curricular activities and clubs for children in the past; I also mentored several young students through school (while still a secondary school student myself) as a result of them having difficulties, and have been trusted to lead classes (with teacher supervision) in order to gain teaching experience.

I have considered moving into teaching in the past, however my career in writing music for film is still fairly young so I am looking to tutor to gain further experience working with young people.

Teaching Experience:
Although not a qualified teacher, I have taught Piano to several students who were preparing to take grades in the instrument, and have helped students prepare to move into GCSE and A levels. I have taken more than 15 practical and theoretical grades in my life, so I know the content and mark schemes well.

Tutoring Approach:
The best application of me as a Tutor, in my opinion, would be in preparation for grades/exams. This includes GCSE, A-Level, Music Theory, or Piano.

However, the student or parent can decide what they want help with something else and I will be more than happy to comply with this based on my skill set.

I am a Polish native speaker who did a degree in Spanish at the University of Sheffield. I am passionate about foreign languages.

Teaching Experience:
I have been teaching Spanish, English as a foreign language, and Polish for many years in high schools (as a Modern Foreign Languages Teaching Assistant), privately, and in further education centres. My students come from diverse backgrounds and have varying abilities and learning needs.

Tutoring Approach:
I am a passionate linguist with 20 years of experience teaching languages. I love learning languages myself, and I regularly read research to improve my teaching methods. I believe constant quizzing and active recall are key to effective learning.

I am very patient and understanding, and I tailor my teaching approach to each student. This varies greatly depending on their experience (often negative), learning style, and individual needs. Together, we discover the best way to teach and learn in order to succeed.

I have Bsc in Psychology, MSc in Neuroscience and a PhD in Psychology and a postgraduate certificate in management of learning and teaching. I am also a current member of the Higher Education Academy.

Teaching Experience:
I have extensive experience of university teaching. I mainly taught broad psychology topics and statistics. I helped students with designing, running psychology experiments, analysing quantitative data, essay writing, preparing posters and power point presentations.

I teach Turkish at all levels. I am a native speaker. I have 8 years experience of teaching, interpreting, translating Turkish in number of settings varying from hospitals to courts in London. I use student centred approach in my teachings.

I was a student researcher in Church laboratory at Harvard Medical School. My research interest lies in synthetic biology and molecular biology. Currently, I am an undergraduate Biochemistry student at the University of Surrey.
I believe that I am a calm, collected person who enjoys encouraging others to take an interest in Science as it is a fast-growing field with a wide variety of job prospects. In my personal experience, one to one tuitions greatly benefited me before I applied to University. Teaching Experience:
I have volunteered and Henry Tyndale Primary School from 2012 to 2013, in which I was able to help and teach pupils of ages 10 to 11. Through attending the school every week, I was able to develop my communication skills and learn new teaching methods depending on the student's needs.

When attending Sixth Form College of Farnborough, I tutored AS Chemistry students from 2013 to 2014. This tuition was set up by the college in order to help new students understand difficult questions, equations or coursework. This was a great chance teach them simple tricks to help them overcome anything they struggled with.

Tutoring Approach:
With biology and chemistry, I believe it is vital to understand basic concepts before learning anything in a higher level of detail. Due to this, I believe it is important for tutees to be taught the basics of a topic before learning detail.
If the tutee seems comfortable with a topic and would just like to consolidate, I would test them with some questions from either past papers or textbooks. This will ensure that, they are able to apply their knowledge.

Also, I believe memorizing key terms and definitions is very useful in exams so I use flashcards or small tests during the beginning or end of the tuition session to test their understanding and make sure that they learn these key words and definitions.

My new approach to teaching includes making online presentations containing key concepts and diagrams that will help my tutee learn about a topic with a new perspective.

I have a BA in English Literature from Lancaster University and an MA in Gothic Literature from Manchester Metropolitan University. Since then I've been working full time and have just finished a masters level apprenticeship alongside my work. Aside from my experience at school and uni, I've got experience in tutoring KS3 and GCSE maths, science and Spanish. Whilst at school I tutored one boy from year 8 to GCSE maths, science and Spanish and whilst at university tutored another in GCSE maths science and geography. Tutoring Approach:
I've found in the past that the best approach to tutoring is to be very positive and flexible. I have never been a super forceful or strict tutor and think that trying to be too overbearing, particularly in sessions outside of or extra to school like tutoring, just makes people perform worse. I will always try and be positive and make sure sessions are not painful for students (as I remember how much doing homework can be a chore!), but equally make sure students are getting the most out of sessions by asking questions of them to demonstrate their knowledge and checking they're confident with what we've done.
