Personal Description:
I am an Arabic linguistics PhD student at the Language and Linguistic Science Department of the University of York, UK. I hold a BA in English literature and linguistics as well as an MA in translation studies. My study makes me familiar with written Arabic and spoken Arabic in its different forms (dialects). This is why I am quite familiar with Egyptian, Syrian, Lebanese, Gulf and Sudanese Arabic. In addition, I am also a CELTA-trained teacher and an Assistant Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in the UK.
Teaching Experience:
I have taught English as a foreign language for 10 years at Minia University, Egypt. I also taught Arabic to adults as well as young people for 5 years in England. I teach face to face and online.
Tutoring Approach:
My teaching depends on immersing you in enjoyable daily-life situations so that you can easily imitate and, after not too much effort, read, write and speak Arabic/English like a native speaker. Culture cannot be separated from language. So, I also immerse you in the main cultural aspects of Arabic/English-speaking countries in general and offer a brief background to language as reflected in culture. Also, I try to compare Arabic and English (as a language) and the culture represented by it with other languages, including French and German (languages that I am familiar with).

I am an experienced and qualified tutor based in London and I am offering One-to-One tuition to students of all ages and levels. I can coach you in preparation of internationally certified exams or simply help you learning a new language or improving your skills (grammar, reading, conversation, speaking...)
Teaching Experience:
I have several years experience as a tutor and private teacher for small groups, and I am confident teaching students of any age.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach varies depending on the student's needs and learning style. However my teaching philosophy is based on encouraging students to think for themselves, using real-world examples wherever possible. I start from topics the students are comfortable with and move gradually towards more complex areas as their confidence builds. I use questions and examples to check understanding continually. I usually focus on exam-style or past paper questions in order to check, practice and perfect the student's understanding and technique. I also give a lot of emphasis to some of the less obvious but vital skills such as essay structure and technique, logical thought, and the effective use of numbers and graphs.

Personal Description:
I'm a very approachable person who enjoys being around people and helping them to achieve their goals, I am currently doing a Masters in Publishing.
I am also a university graduate in Broadcast Media Production and I took Photography and Creative Media at A level.
In my GCSE'S I took Graphics and History/Geography.
In my spare time I do archery (which I've been doing for 11 years) and climbing (for 1 year) I also enjoy reading and travelling.
Teaching Experience:
I have previously worked in a college as a supported learning assistant working mainly with dyslexic students onna variety of subjects.
I volunteered as part time help at Luddington and Garthorpe primary school in North Lincolnshire. I help when I am not busy, this is experience for me as it is something I am considering as a career path for the future, I help with the children, and I help the class teachers when their TA's are ill or busy elsewhere, I have also answered the phones when the receptionist hasn't been in.
I have also been volunteering at John Leggott College in the media department as an assistant to the staff and the young adults, this has given me more of an idea of what it is like to teach older children and a possible career choice. I help them with their pre and post production and general help through out the lessons.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach to tutoring is research what they're doing in school and asking them how they learn - weather it being visual, auditory or kinesthetic - I myself prefer a practical/kinesthetic - "hands on learning" as you can learn whilst doing things. Another way I like to teach is by a reward system which works to help the student feel like they have achieved something they may not have been able to learn by them selves or by classroom learning.

Personal Description:
** Available after 5pm on weekdays**
I`ve completed a PhD in Mathematics at the University of York, UK, and I'm a native Italian speaker with a strong passion for teaching.
I have 15 years of experience with one-to-one Maths tutoring to students from any level of education, and I worked for 4 years as a seminar leader in modules taught in my university department.
Teaching Experience:
I specialise in Mathematics, and I teach GCSE, A-levels, IB, and university students; I have experience with Edexcel and AQA exam boards.
As to university teaching, I specialise in probability, calculus, and mathematical analysis.
I also have experience with teaching Physics to GCSE and A-level students and Italian to adult learners.
I started teaching in 2009 as a Maths a Physics tutor for secondary school students in Italy. I started tutoring in the UK in 2017, both online and in-person, and in 2018 and 2019, I also volunteered at the City of York council as a maths teaching assistant. I've been teaching secondary school and university students for 15 years now.
Between 2017 and 2021, I worked as a seminar leader in the Maths department of the University of York for probability, calculus, and mathematical analysis modules.
In 2019, I started teaching Italian to adult learners who need support with conversation skills and grammar.
Tutoring Approach:
My aim is to make my students confident and independent in their studies.
During the introduction, I meet the student and their guardian so that we can get to know each other. I learn about their needs and aims, and we start planning the lessons.
The plan typically consists of weekly or fortnightly lessons depending on the content the student needs to cover; some students need to focus only on specific topics, while others need support throughout the year.
During the lessons, I focus both on supporting the students with the new material they have to learn and on filling the gaps they might have in order to build a solid foundation. To do that, I use worksheets that are focused on a specific topic and past exam papers that can help students prepare for tests and exams.
I organise my lessons so that the students can think of how to solve exercises while I guide them to the solution, rather than tell them what to do step by step. That way, they develop their own method to understand and study Maths and boost their confidence.
As to my Italian lessons, I base them on practice so that the students can gain more confidence, especially with listening and speaking, while strengthening their basic grammar knowledge. During the lesson, I like to create conversations aimed at practising oral comprehension and production.

Personal Description:
Hi, I'm Pedro. I was born in Portugal but have lived in England since I was 9. I'm currently studying BSc in Psychology at Bournemouth University and I really enjoy my degree. I am particularly interested in clinical psychology and as a result since April 2022 I've been volunteering at 'Hammersley Homes', a charity which focuses on helping adults with mental illness. A few hours a week I visit someone who finds himself adjusting back into society, he has autism and bipolar. We speak, go on walks, cycle or listen to music together. I have learnt a lot about how difficult certain people find life. This experience has really helped me to be more empathetic, caring and positive.
I also really enjoy surfing, jogging and cooking.
Teaching Experience:
I took up a role as 'PAL' leader at my university where I was given a classroom of 20 first year psychology students. Although the role involved me 'facilitating' instead of 'teaching'. I spoke to my 'students' every week on what content they were struggling with, since I had done the same content the year prior, I compiled and summarised content which I had been taught and created power point slides to give them direction and a better understanding on the content. I also emphasised taking care of mental health and getting involved with the community.
I was nervous at first, worried about speaking too fast or having awkward silences but after a few sessions I found myself loving it. I received really good feedback from students and supervisor who suggested I should be a teacher because I made the sessions really engaging.
Tutoring Approach:
I see tutoring as an amazing opportunity to help motivate students and help them engage in their learning, so that they gain confidence, a better understanding, and better results. I understand every student is different so finding the best way the student engages with the work, is vital so that they enjoy the process of learning and succeeding. I like spreading positivity and joy, since I believe it's the best learning environment.
I know a lot of hard work goes into studying each exam board to make sure I'm giving accurate support and working hard to find questions which fit the skill of student.

Personal Description:
With over a decade of experience as a biology tutor, my teaching philosophy centers on understanding over memorization and simplification of complex concepts. Armed with a pharmacy degree and a Masters in Molecular Biology, I bring a unique interdisciplinary perspective to my instruction. I excel in breaking down intricate biological principles into digestible, relatable components. Through analogies, metaphors, and real-world examples, I ensure students not only grasp the material but also retain it. My goal is to empower them with critical thinking skills and a love for learning. This approach has proven effective in a variety of learning environments and platforms.
Teaching Experience:
I am a seasoned biology tutor proficient in tailoring my teaching methods to cater to diverse student backgrounds and learning environments. My journey as an educator has spanned various platforms and situations, allowing me to refine my pedagogical approach to meet the unique needs of each individual.
Throughout my extensive tenure, I have had the privilege of instructing students from all walks of life, from high school to postgraduate levels. This diverse exposure has equipped me with a deep understanding of the various learning styles and aptitudes that students possess. Whether in a traditional classroom, an online forum, or a one-on-one tutoring session, I am adept at creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment that fosters curiosity and critical thinking.
Tutoring Approach:
My teaching philosophy revolves around fostering deep understanding rather than rote memorization. Over my extensive tenure as a biology tutor, I've honed an approach that prioritizes comprehension and simplification of complex concepts. Rather than overwhelming students with a barrage of facts, I believe in equipping them with a solid foundation of understanding.
I employ various pedagogical techniques to break down intricate biological principles into digestible, relatable components. This involves utilizing analogies, metaphors, and real-world examples to demystify even the most challenging topics. By connecting abstract concepts to tangible experiences, I ensure that students not only grasp the material but also retain it for the long term.
Central to my teaching methodology is active engagement. I encourage questions, discussions, and hands-on activities that encourage critical thinking and application of knowledge. This interactive approach not only reinforces understanding but also cultivates a sense of curiosity and ownership over the subject matter.
Furthermore, I place a strong emphasis on adapting my teaching style to accommodate diverse learning preferences. Whether visual, auditory, or kinesthetic, I strive to provide resources and activities that cater to each student's individual strengths. This personalized approach ensures that every student has the opportunity to thrive and succeed.

I am a dedicated and approachable Law and French undergraduate at the University of Bristol with a strong academic track record and extensive leadership experience. I have honed my teaching and mentoring skills through roles such as Vice President of the Debating Society, where I led workshops for younger students. My commitment to clear communication and ability to adapt my approach to different learning styles make me an effective tutor. Additionally, my experience as a volunteer during my year abroad demonstrates my ability to collaborate and provide support in diverse settings. I am eager to bring my enthusiasm and expertise to support students in achieving their academic goals.
Teaching Experience:
During my time at Downe House, I gained valuable teaching and mentoring experience through various leadership roles. Personal Description:
I'm an art & craft design tutor with a passion for keeping traditional techniques alive while blending them with contemporary creativity. With 9 years of experience in textiles and craftsmanship, I specialize in Indian handwork such as chikankari, zardosi, aari embroidery, kalamkari, bobbin lace, carpets, and rugs.
As a tutor, my goal is to share skills, inspire creativity, and encourage hands-on learning. Whether it's teaching intricate stitches, design concepts, or craft-based storytelling, I love guiding learners of all levels to explore their artistic potential.
For me, art and craft are not just skills - they're a journey of patience, culture, and self-expression.
Teaching Experience:
Over the years, I have had the privilege of teaching art, craft, and textile design to learners from different age groups and backgrounds. With 9 years of professional experience in textiles and craftsmanship, I bring both practical industry knowledge and hands-on artisan skills into my teaching.
I have conducted workshops, training sessions, and one-on-one mentorships that focus on:
• Traditional Indian crafts like chikankari, zardosi, aari work, kalamkari, and bobbin lace
• Textile techniques including carpet weaving and rug design
• Creative design development, material exploration, and storytelling through craft
My teaching style is interactive, patient, and process-oriented. I believe every student should not only learn a technique but also understand its cultural heritage, design value, and potential for innovation.
What excites me most about teaching is watching learners gain confidence, skill, and creative freedom while connecting deeply with handmade traditions.
Tutoring Approach:
As a tutor, my focus is on creating a balanced learning experience that combines technical skill, creative freedom, and cultural understanding.
✨ Hands-on learning - I believe the best way to learn crafts and design is by doing. Every session includes practical exploration with materials, tools, and techniques.
✨ Personalized guidance - Each learner has a unique pace and style. I adapt my teaching to individual strengths, encouraging both beginners and advanced learners to grow with confidence.
✨ Connecting tradition & innovation - I emphasize the heritage of crafts like chikankari, zardosi, aari, kalamkari, and weaving, while also showing how these techniques can be reimagined for modern design.
✨ Process over perfection - Craft is a journey of patience and practice. I guide students to enjoy the process, experiment fearlessly, and develop their own artistic voice.
✨ Creative mindset - Beyond skills, I nurture curiosity, problem-solving, and storytelling through design - helping learners see craft as both an art form and a career path.
