I am 50 years of age and have a wealth of experience in many aspects of life, including education and commerce. I have taught in colleges and schools and have run my own computer software company. I also have experience of property development. I have a passion for teaching and enjoy the challenge of helping students to achieve their best; I enjoy working one to one with students or in small groups; tutorials are tailor made for each student, based on an assessment and previous exam results. I have a BA and a BSC(hons) degree in maths and computing. I also hold qualified teacher status and a Secondary Mathematics Post Graduate Certificate in Education.

25 years of teaching experience including 20 years teaching Motor Vehicle Technology in colleges in Cornwall, Bristol and Essex and 5 years teaching mathematics and several other subjects in secondary schools. I am also a qualified NVQ assessor for Motor Vehicle Engineering.

I have been involved in computers and IT for 27 years. I was first of all a professional computer games programmer / designer before moving into my current role as an IT Solutions Architect. Over the last 21 years in IT consultancy, I have developed a breadth and depth of knowledge in IT and computing which is hard to find almost anywhere in the UK having dealt with almost all types of systems and aspects of IT.

I'm not able to teach you all the intricacies of the Microsoft Office products like Excel or Word, but I can train you in system design, system support, software development and pretty much anything in between. I have a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge. While studying in my Bachelor's program in Russia and the Master's program at Cambridge I have developed a deep appreciation of the beauty of Mathematics and decided to specialize in the area. This eventually led to creating a new mathematical theory and defending my thesis.

As much as I like pondering on math problems on my own, it is especially important in maths to be able to explain the area to others, be they your colleagues, undergraduate and high school students or interested adults. Moreover, I found teaching really exciting and always feel extremely happy to see my students succeed.
