Personal Description:
I am an enthusiastic Italian teacher and a language professional seeking a position in a challenging school environment. I recently graduated in Italian Studies and I have a true passion for the Italian language and literature. My studies and my travels all around Italy gave me the chance to widen my knowledge about all aspects of the Italian culture from the linguistic to the historical point of view. I have had different kinds of teaching experiences over years from one-to-one tuition to children and mature students in Italy, to Italian lessons to adults in England. I have wide experiences in lesson planning and schemes of work, preparing teaching materials and activities, taking care of students needs and designing new methods to keep their studies always interesting and interactive. Tutoring Approach:
I am an Italian national who has been living in Bristol since September 2012 and having had a long time experience as an Italian teacher for students who have participated in the AFS Intercultural Program, it has not been difficult to insert myself here as a private Italian teacher.
I have a deep understanding of the GCSE program since I am tutoring three English secondary school students who are having difficulties with the Italian language. They lack interest and enthusiasm thus each lesson becomes more difficult but a challenge for me. I am looking for lessons that give them the enthusiasm they are missing and I must say that I am succeeding; sometime I see that the textbook is very dry and for this reason, my personal teaching materials often replaces the book.
My method is based a lot on grammar induction, stimulating conversations with the student, based on body movements for understand the action of the various stages of the exploration of the basic construction of the verb tense. A few years ago I enrolled in a workshop offered at the university about the use and choice of scene Italian films for understand better the Italian style-life and that has been quite useful to my teaching of Italian culture.
In Italy I have had own bookshop where I held my Italian lesson, therefore I know very well many documentaries and lectures mostly (or particularly) on Ancient Rome. Furthermore, I have been a guide in the city of Rome and I'm perfectly capable of organizing a cultural trips.
I look forward to being given an opportunity to work with your school: it is the type of environment I thrive in and to transmit my passion and love for my country and for my mother tongue is my main goal. This position will allow me to utilize my many skills and knowledge to support the language teacher's teaching and improve together the student's knowledge.
I would appreciate the opportunity to meet and discuss my qualifications as well as to answer any questions you may have.

Personal Description:
Nice to meet you! I'm Rebecca; I'm 36 years old and graduated from Bangor University with a BSc in Psychology with Clinical and Health Psychology. After university I spent a year as a specialist support worker for adults with autism and autistic traits. I have also completed a Level 2 Counselling Course and a Level 2 in Caring for Children and Young People course. With my psychology degree and experience I am more than happy to cater for students that might need a bit of extra help, and have experience teaching students with Aspergers, Personality Disorder, and depression.
Following uni, I spent nearly 2 years teaching English as a foreign language in Japan. Whilst in Japan, I also learnt how to speak conversational Japanese, and can also read and write hiragana, katakana, and N5/ N4 level kanji. I now tutor Japanese full time, and have been doing so since 2014.
To better understand what is needed for GCSE Japanese, I took my GCSE in 2016 achieving an A*. I also took and passed my JLPT N5 in 2025; I wanted to be able to fully describe the N5 experience to my students. I am happy to help students work towards their GCSE or N5 level Japanese, and I am constantly training to improve my students learning experience.
I'm currently only teaching via Microsoft Teams, as I have a two small children and face-to-face lessons are impractical at the moment.
Teaching Experience:
My teaching experience includes the 2 years I spent teaching English as a foreign language in Japan, where I designed the yearly teaching schedules, lesson plans, and then taught the lessons. My students were from the age of 3 to 65, so I have experience in teaching all ages. Whilst in Japan I also taught beginner's Japanese to foreigners living in my local area.
Since returning to England in 2013 I've been tutoring English and Japanese full time. I took my GCSE Japanese in 2016 achieving an A*, and finally got round to taking and passing the JLPT N5 in 2025. I'm currently teaching around 15 different students 1 to 1, and relish the challenges and individuality between each new student.
I currently volunteer for a local playgroup, where I help to set up and run sessions, and lead the story time and songs.
At university I volunteered for several groups including an activity group for disadvantaged children, assisting in secondary school classrooms, volunteering at the local mental health unit and volunteering as a charity shop assistant.
Prior to this, I often tutored my younger sister (who has Asperger's Syndrome) and helped her to understand her school work. I also clocked up countless hours of babysitting for parents around the local area.
Tutoring Approach:
When students attend my lessons, I like to think that they come not only to learn, but for the experience. I deliver fun, relaxed, friendly lessons where my students can feel comfortable and just enjoy learning something they're interested in. I write and provide all of my own lesson materials, and adapt them to my student's learning style - and then mix in some games to help practice the new vocabulary!
I also encourage my students to message me with questions, or to send pictures of their work for discussions outside of lessons too - so if you're ever stuck during your studies, always know that you've got someone to ask!

Personal Description:
Whilst, as an English teacher, I do enjoy a good book, my main interest lies in physical activity. I am passionate about physical fitness and everything that comes with it: flexibility, mobility and nutrition.
My main sport growing up was rugby, which has now been replaced with playing for a football team on a Saturday (much easier on the shoulders).
I am an avid traveller and love nothing more than a European city break or an adventure much further afield.
Teaching Experience:
I have worked in the education sector for twelve years, with the last seven being as a senior leader in three different schools.
As an English teacher, I have experience of teaching the full range of student ability levels, from working with students in KS3 with low literacy to leading on English Literature A Level. I have extensive experience teaching the IGCSE, AQA, Edexcel and OCR English Language and Literature exam content.
My most recent role is at a large successfully secondary in Surrey where I lead on Teaching & Learning as an Assistant Headteacher. Previously, I have ran a sixth form and led on SEN provision as a senior leader. I have worked in schools judged as Outstanding and supported others that were in Special Measures.
Additionally, I am an SLE (Specialist Leader of Education) and I have been parachuted into struggling schools to help them raise standards.
In my most recent Year 11 group, 22% of students were targeted a grade 7+. However, over 44% of my students achieved a grade 7+ in their actual GCSE exams.
Tutoring Approach:
Through a decade of tutoring experience, I feel that it is vital to first assess the student's current ability and discover their most pressing need. Once this has been discovered, we will work towards tangible targets, whilst still focusing on priorities such as vocabulary, complex punctuation and improving a student's ability to express their ideas on paper.
My sessions are as interactive as possible, to allow the students to approach their learning in a contextual way that they can relate to real-life. I also like to promote a student's ability to articulate their ideas verbally through discussion, in order to develop their written skills.
Each tutee's progress is individually tracked against their personal targets and the overarching aim of the tuition.
I feel my extensive experience at a senior level in a range of school contexts allows me to quickly adapt to the needs of the tutee.

Personal Description:
Approachable, patient and thorough tutor with an outstanding feedback record stretching back to 2009. I am a qualified Chartered Accountant, working as a financial accountant at a large property and casualty insurer in the City of London. My Father was a Mathematics teacher in London for nearly forty years, which is most likely where I get my boundless enthusiasm for these subjects from! I work very hard to make the delivery of subject material as clear, interesting and precise as possible. Rather than just spoon feed a formula, I go back to first principles and explain in simple terms why a particular piece of theory works and where it came from. However, I do not just talk constantly and let the student sit idle. Success in Maths, Accounting and Economics requires problem solving skills, so in order for the sessions to be beneficial I need the student to engage with me and to attempt questions (with my supervision) when they have enough accumulated knowledge to do so. I fully understand how stressful school/university can be and as such the sessions are not intended to be "just another school lesson", or to put vast amounts of pressure on students: the ultimate aim is to develop a strong working rapport whereby the student feels comfortable, secure and can feel a sense of achievement from their work.
*** Feedback testimonials from previous students/parents can be provided as far back as 2009.
*** I teach Sixth Term Examination Papers (STEP I, II and III) and AEA also ***
*** AVAILABLE TO TEACH IN SUMMER HOLIDAYS***
*** TEACH ONLINE OR IN PERSON, EITHER AT STUDENT HOME OR MINE ***
Teaching Experience:
I have 17 years worth of private tuition experience teaching Mathematics, Business, Accounting and Economics courses that begin at Key Stage 3 (Years 11-14), through GCSE, AS & A2 level to first and second year university courses in accounting, mathematics and economics. Whilst at university I also volunteered to take part in weekly workshops where students could come and ask questions in a relaxed, informal atmosphere about homework or problems that they simply were unable to make any headway with.
I teach the following courses for GCSE, A Level and University:
Mathematical Methods (Core / Pure)
Advanced Mathematical Methods (Core / Pure)
Statistics
Decision Mathematics
Mechanics - A Level only
Microeconomics
Macroeconomics
Development Economics
Labour Economics
I am well versed with all the requirements of the major UK examination boards, as well as an understanding of what universities are looking for in exams and coursework.
For those of you that are interested in becoming an Actuary or indeed would like some tuition for the exams set by the Institute of Actuaries, I am able to teach the following courses: CT1 - Financial Mathematics, CT3 - Probability and Mathematical Statistics, CT4 - Models, CT7 - Economics.
For those of you that are studying Accounting & Finance, I teach the following courses:
Financial Reporting
Financial Accounting
Taxation
Management/Cost Accounting
Corporate Finance
Business Law
I am well versed with the requirements of the major UK boards for ACA and CA, such as Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW) and Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS).
I also teach AAT (all Levels), ACCA and CIMA courses.
The above list is not exhaustive so if require assistance with another course please do not hesitate to contact me for more details.
Tutoring Approach:
During the first session I present a short questionnaire that I ask the student to fill in (honestly!) in order for me to assess their individual learning styles (right brain vs. left brain, use of visual stimuli etc), so that I can respond best to their needs. Every lesson will begin with an outline of the subject content and the intended aims. The key to success in maths and economics is to do it! With that in mind, the vast majority of lessons will entail methodically working through problems and exam style questions to ensure my students are as well prepared for their modules as possible. However, exam success isn't the only concern; I want to nurture and develop a genuine love for Mathematics, Accounting, Business and Economics; one that will encourage the students to read widely and explore new avenues of thought.

Personal Description:
I am a singer/composer/producer and songwriter. I've worked mainly in the advertising world, composing and producing for television.
In terms of teaching, I have helped people with regards to Vocal Coaching, Singing, Songwriting Techniques, Music Production and Relaxation, all under the bracket of music and performing.
Teaching Experience:
I have taught privately for 4 years. I have helped people develop their songwriting craft and assisted them in developing their songs and finding their own uniqueness. I also assist in recording sessions/rehearsals, focusing on making sure the vocalist is in a good emotional space and we can also look at technique and diction and the emotion behind the song.
In terms of production, I tend to work with Logic Pro, but the principles of production are to do with sound selection and arrangement. I help students hear which sound choices work, and hear the finer details in well crafted and produced songs. Once the principles are understood, this allows them to apply them to their own work.
Tutoring Approach:
I have a relaxed yet very focused approach to tutoring. First we'll identify the student's goals and intentions, whether it's purely singing based, or involves aspects of songwriting and performing or production. We then set some targets and work together to achieve them.
In terms of vocal technique, I have studied and integrated elements of 'Bel Canto', Speech level style singing, and more contemporary forms of vocal development. I also explain what each vocal exercise is designed to do, so we know why we're doing certain exercises.
Relaxation techniques are a big part of my work. This allows us to breathe more freely, and helps free us of any tensions which may stand in our way.
The confidence of technique and precise execution that becomes second nature is the key to successful musical delivery. I help develop those techniques that can be relied upon to deliver the true emotion and intention behind your of your work.

Teaching Experience:
I have about 20 years experience teaching GCSE annd A level mathematics. I also have several years experience teaching maths to primary school children.

Personal Description:
I have been teaching Russian Language for more than 18 years with 9 years experience working in London, and in addition, have also taught Russian Literature.
From January 2009 until present I have been teaching children from the age 3 -18-year-old and adults. I am using the communicative methods to teach my students. I started to work as a private Tutor of Russian as soon as I came to London. I have been tutoring the same students until they reach the age of 14 -16 year old.

I have completed a Thesis in Pedagogy studies, and I have achieved a PhD in this subject.
Expertise in all levels of student education primarily with children age groups from 3 to 18 years of age and adult learners. Able to assist in supervision, organisation of all areas of student curriculum, including preparation of GCSE and A-level.

Personal Description:
Hi, I'm Harry, a dedicated and experienced tutor with a passion for helping students unlock their full academic potential. I specialize in Maths and Science at the GCSE level and have a proven track record of supporting students to build confidence, improve their understanding, and achieve their target grades. Whether you're looking for help with exam preparation or ongoing support with schoolwork, I'm here to provide clear explanations, tailored lessons, and encouragement every step of the way.
Teaching Experience:
I began tutoring during my A-Levels, assisting GCSE students with their understanding of Chemistry. Helping students develop towards a deeper understanding of the subject is what inspired me to start tutoring more. I continued tutoring during my time at university, whilst also participating in a mentor programme where I would assist younger students with coursework, practical and theory questions.
My teaching approach centres on tailoring material to each individual student, as there is no 'one-size-fits-all' approach to learning. Each student has their own strengths and weaknesses, which mY lessons would be built around. From there, I can prioritise tackling problems that they might be having with certain skills and aim to further improve their strengths, whilst maintaining an appropriate level of challenge across skills.
Before the lessons, I like to establish with each student what goals they want to reach. It's a useful icebreaker, but also allows me to determine what they want to get out of the teaching, whether this is boosting their confidence or excelling at exams. This way we can identify what the focus point is, and plan the lessons around that.
Tutoring Approach:
Making sure the lessons are interactive is another of my top priorities, as I believe that mixing the content up to keep the student engaged helps them to learn a lot faster. Once a student is confident with the subject, I get them started on past papers, as applying the knowledge in this way is better reflective of actual exam conditions.

Hi, my name is Tom. I'm a very experienced GCSE and A level maths tutor. Students and parents find me very effective. (Please see the testimonials on my profile page.) I teach through dialogue, the priority always being to allow the student to think aloud, and to choose which way to explore a problem.
I'm expert with online teaching software, including my own for teaching vectors.
I'm passionate about one-to-one teaching, which I've been doing full-time for 15 years. I very much look forward to working with you.
I'm available for a free meeting any time today, if you'd like to chat to find out more.
Best wishes

Teaching Experience:
I've taught privately over many years, and had extensive contracts for one-to-one work at many schools in Letchworth and, most recently, a 6th form college in Brighton (Kings).
I'm expert at using graphical software to teach online.
I'm experienced in teaching maths at all levels of primary and secondary schooling (UK Key Stages 1 to 5).
GCSE Maths and GCSE Additional Maths, A-level Maths and A-level Further Maths, including mechanics, decision maths, and statistics.
Recent experience with all exam boards: Edexcel, OCR and AQA. For A level, GCSE and IGCSE.
Tutoring Approach:
Students often struggle with maths at school because of misconceptions that are particular to them, and difficult to rectify in a whole class setting, and which lead to the student losing confidence. One-to-one tuition can be an excellent way to address these misconceptions. and enable the student to re-connect with their enjoyment of the subject.
As a psychology graduate (before studying maths at university level), I have a fascination with how students themselves will approach a maths problem, and I'm good at allowing them to explore and develop their own ideas. I find they almost always have energy and enthusiasm for, say, a ratio or algebra problem, if they are allowed to explore it with appropriate visual imagery.

I often get allocated 1:1 time with students that are having a harder time than others in some way, and I find this element of the job particularly rewarding.
Due to the nature of my work, I have a good understanding of the current curriculum, as well as the GCSE and A-Level programs.
I graduated in 2019 with a bachelors degree in Fine Art from AUB, as well as a foundation diploma in Art & Design from UCA. Since graduating I have been continuously developing my own artistic practice and working on a wide range of commissions, alongside raising my little boy.
Teaching Experience:
As mentioned above, my teaching experience comes from working in a school/sixth form.
Tutoring Approach:
Art should ultimately be about personal expression and expansion. And it should be fun!! A big part of my approach is about helping my students to identify their own blocks and challenges, and then finding ways to push through these into new and exciting territories.
I'm a big advocate for daily sketchbook practice, and I offer my students all sorts of exercises and techniques that aid them in 'loosening up' and discovering their own unique style.
I can also assist with enhancing understanding of, and ability in, a range of more technical artistic elements (colour theory, perspective, accurate drawing etc)
