My tutoring approach is based on mutual interactive approach, I just like to make it sure that student has gained required level of confidence agreed for the tutoring session. I have quite proactive approach to analyse student requirements and accordingly arrange all the necessarily helping material, notes, examples and physical models if required to elaborate the difficult aspects of the problem in hand. Although grammar is fundamental to any language, I prefer to teach students collocations (groups of words that commonly go together) than dry grammar rules. I leads to people speaking more instinctively and spending less time worrying about the correctness of what they are saying.

Building confidence in the learner and helping them realise that they can transfer natural communication skills from their first language to their second language is key to their success.
