I'm an English teacher who also loves to learn. For fun I like to dress up as a Tudor and take part in Living History events. I also very much like to take my slightly dopey dog to the beach where I regularly need to prevent her swimming to France!

Teaching Experience:
My first experience of teaching was through home-educating my daughter from when she was 6 through to GSCE-level. I then went on to do a PGCE in Lifelong Learning (post-16 education) during which time I taught a range of business and tourism modules. Since completing my PGCE I have completed short-term contracts teaching English as a Foreign Language. Presently, I work part-time as an enabler for physically and/ or mentally disabled students in higher education and part-time as a private tutor.I have experience tutoring adult learners, home-educated students (i.e. delivery of full syllabus) and students who are at school but need additional subject help, for example with exam preparation. I currently teach English as a foreign language at a school in Cardiff.

Tutoring Approach:
I understand how important it is to have a supportive and patient teacher who is willing to answer any question any number of times until the student 'gets it' and that's what I am always prepared to do. I am a researcher at Kings College London. I do research on biology, genetics and neuroscience. In addition, I give lectures and run tutorials to biology, chemistry and medicine undergraduate students on genetics, evolution and neurobiology. İ am a graduate of veterinary medicine and worked as a veterinary surgeon for three years before moving to research. İn addition to Turkish, which is my mother language, I am very efficient in English and French and good in Dutch.

I was born in Turkey and finished my high school as well as Veterinary undergraduate education in Istanbul, Turkey. Then I moved to London to do a PhD in Psychiatry Genetics and since then I work / live in London.

I gave private tuition for ten years to students aged 10-18 on various subjects including maths, physics, biology, french, english, geometry and chemistry. I tailor my tutoring to the needs of my students. First İ talk to the student and try to understand the origin of the difficulty experienced by him/her. Then I give a background information on the subject and let the student to develop it while resolving any question or confusion. During this process I provide additional help whenever the student needs. Then I give examples on the same subject to strengthen the student's knowledge. I am friendly, patient and enthusiastic, and keen to help the student develop a confidence and make progress.

Currently I have picked modules only involving mathematics ranging from maths for economics, econometrics and game theory and a minor pure mathematics module. So I am presently fully capable of handling up to A-Level Core and Statistical mathematics.

Teaching Experience:
I have no professional experience as a teacher however i have some experience teaching my peers throughout GCSE, A-Level and Degree Level.
For instance I have taught friends and peers parts of Edexcel Mathematics up to A-Level.

All students are different, so I strive to find what interests the student and work from there. An engaged student is a keen student.

It is important that the principles are understand because all else flows from this. I use examples from the students' course work and life situations to focus on what is important to the student, to put things in a language that they can understand. This can be through explanations, sketches, diagrams etc. When this happens and the light goes on, there is great satisfaction that the student is taking an interest in the subject.

My journey with music started when I was 7 years old. I was in a music school for almost 10 years, learning piano, vocal, music theory, harmony and having choir classes. The same age I started singing and playing piano at my local church.
