Teaching Experience:
I have successfully taught students of all levels from complete beginner to immediate level and advanced speaking and business level Mandarin. My teaching is mainly 1 on a 1 basis, and the class content is tailored to each students needs. I can also teach groups of students if required.
Tutoring Approach:
As a Chinese language teacher I believe I am not just teaching a language, but also introducing Chinese culture to students. My teaching is never only based on textbooks. I like to integrate topics from world news and TV, and mixed with Chinese films and music.
I have lived in London since 2011 and I constantly travel between the UK and China. I have no trouble in communicating Chinese meanings of words and explaining complicated language structures to my students. In my teaching experience over seven years, I have found that most UK students feel Chinese pronunciation the most difficult and the grammar can be confusing. Therefore in my teaching I make special efforts on explaining the varied language senses/logics between English and Chinese. I often draw examples from both languages and compare them.

Personal Description:
Since completing my degree, earning a First in Linguistics and Spanish from St. Catherine's College, Oxford, tutoring has become the mainstay of my work. I regularly attend Oxbridge admissions-focussed events for both schools and the general public, as an experienced mock interviewer, seminar leader, and test coach. My speciality is Spanish, though I always hope for aspiring Linguistics students! Outside of tutoring, I enjoy hiking, cooking, and snooker (even though I'm hopeless at it).
Teaching Experience:
- 7 years' tuition experience - focus on Spanish, Linguistics, and Oxbridge admissions
- Regular tutor at an intensive revisions school in Oxfordshire, with a focus on board-specific advice for Spanish examinations at all levels
- Regular seminar leader at Oxbridge-focussed events at school and public events, including:
- personal statement workshops
- admissions test advice (for essay-based subjects)
- interview preparation
- subject-specific seminars for langauges, literature, Linguistics, Classics, and ASNaC
Tutoring Approach:
When tutoring, I do not use the word "lesson"; that's a poor description of the dynamic. Students have a goal, and it is the task of both me and a student to work towards that goal. I have a very informal style in the session, but I hope to back this up with good communication and organisation behind the scenes.

Personal Description:
Hailing from a small town of Gondia, I started my journey as a student who was exploring himself through various experiences of knowing, believing and imagining. We all live stories, we all are stories and hence I am searching those stories and exploring myself painting every possible canvas.
Graduated as an Architect, I started working as a set designer with Art Director and Filmmaker Omung Kumar. A long-cherished dream of being a part of the Visual-Storytelling industry landed me to New York Film Academy, Los Angeles where I studied Film making- an absolute Visual Art form.
I have been an Associate Producer and Production Designer in an Indonesian web series '19 Letters' directed and produced by Dinda Unaroma.
I worked as a Graphic Designer, illustrator and Art Director in the prestigious US based magazines like 'Vanichi Fashion' and 'Impact Relevance Mag'
As they say ART knows no boundaries and I believe everything artistic is somewhat collaborative. During 2017 I along with my creative friends, we setup our own architecture and interior design firm 'Tales & Details'. In T&D we have been successfully delivering the hospitality and residential projects based in the city of oranges Nagpur.
One such venture I proudly cherish and co-own is an event company where we get to design and setup colourful and happy weddings and the other events.
I have been inspired by the literatures of various personalities like Candace Bushnell, Salman Rushdie, Paulo Coelho. Likewise Poetries of Rumi left a deep impact over my works. I also seek inspiration from my travel experiences.

Personal Description:
Hi, I'm Alan. I offer Mathematics lessons online and in person in the Newport (South Wales) and surrounding areas.
I am extremely patient, especially with the pupils requiring extra support. I aim to provide all my tutees with the confidence and the understanding which is necessary for success in the subject. I also undertake examination work which I have done for many years. This gives me a greater understanding of the possible areas of weakness by students in the subject and therefore I can guide them accordingly during the lessons. I travel to the homes of my students and am flexible about evening/weekend lessons according to parent requirements. I also offer online lessons via Skype if that is preferred.
Teaching Experience:
I have some 30 years experience as a Mathematics teacher in both the state and private sectors teaching children from 7 to 18 years of age.
I have also tutored Mathematics for many years to children and adults and achieved very good results.
I have also been involved with examination work for GCSE Mathematics over the years.
Tutoring Approach:
I enjoy teaching on a one-to-one basis and expect pupils to maintain a high standard during the lessons but yet aim to make the lessons as enjoyable and relaxed as possible.

Personal Description:
I am a self-taught guitarist of over 20 years and am technically proficient to an advanced level, there are very few guitar techniques that I'm unfamiliar with and I am continually learning more. I've performed in a variety of venues/situations, whether as a solo performer, in a band or as part of the accompaniment for musicals, each of which require different approaches and disciplines. I've also done plenty of recorded performances which also requires a host of different skills.
Teaching Experience:
I have been teaching guitar for over 10 years on an ad hoc basis with private students. I also currently work at Coleg Y Cymoedd, teaching live performance and music rehearsal skills for the last 2 years. I have helped students of all ages over the years go from complete beginners to accomplished players, as well as taking intermediate players and help them to learn more advanced techniques.
Tutoring Approach:
My teaching method involves the same method by which I teach myself - focused practice and repetition. A lot of people try to run before they can walk, spending a couple of days learning chords then trying to play complicated lead parts. What you will work on with me, is having a solid foundation on which to build. We will work together to make sure that when you learn techniques, you learn them the right way first time. We'll do things slowly and smoothly, because slow and smooth equals fast in the long run.
Fundamentally though, we will go at your pace. Everyone learns different skills at different speeds, so there is no pressure to learn anything in a particular time frame, the key is for there to be progress little by little. Equally we will tailor lessons to your wants/needs as much as possible and so you're learning the type of guitar playing that most appeals to you.
A lot of tutors take an approach of getting you to go through guitar grades and whilst that is something we can look into if it appeals to you, I personally have never found grades to be worth anything and certainly not an accurate measurement of someone's ability/talent, so with that in mind, going through grades is not something I will be pushing you to do.
I advise for the first lesson (which is free) to be 1 hour so we can get to know each other and put together a bit of a plan for you. After that I recommend lessons be 30 minutes per lesson per week, as the main goal of lessons is for you to show me what you've practiced in the previous week and for me to then advise you on what can be improved etc., or if it's time for you to start working on something else. In my experience 30 minutes is more than sufficient to achieve this but if you feel you'd like more tuition then of course we can explore that.
Please note the rate shown is an hourly rate. 30 minute lessons will be £15 in person or £12.50 online.

Personal Description:
I'm a fully qualified science teacher and the current Head of Biology at a large secondary school. With over 20 years of experience in education, I specialise in helping GCSE students succeed in Biology by building both subject knowledge and exam confidence. I also work as an examiner for AQA GCSE Biology, so I know exactly what examiners are looking for and how to help students maximise their marks.
Teaching Experience:
I've taught Biology across Key Stage 3 and 4, with a particular focus on the AQA GCSE specification. As Head of Biology, I lead curriculum planning, exam preparation, and targeted intervention strategies to support student progress. I also mentor early career teachers and trainee teachers, supporting them to deliver effective and engaging lessons. My work as an AQA examiner gives me valuable insight into how exam questions are marked and how students can approach them with confidence.
Tutoring Approach:
My tutoring sessions are calm, focused, and tailored to each student's needs. I focus on building a secure understanding of key topics, strengthening exam technique, and improving confidence. I use a combination of clear explanations, structured practice, and real exam-style questions. As an experienced teacher and examiner, I can help students refine their answers to meet the mark scheme and feel well prepared for their exams.

Personal Description:
Highly experienced Maths Tutor since 2014 at A Level, GCSE and degree level including university entrance exams. have always loved Maths. It was an easy decision for me to study a Maths and Statistics degree at the University of London, obtaining a First Class Honours, and I so loved my subject that I continued on to do a PhD in Mathematical Statistics, combining both theoretical maths with application. My career then progressed to teaching and research as a Lecturer and Senior Lecturer in the Mathematics Department at the University of Surrey, where I taught Maths and Statistics. In 2014 I decided to work as a full time tutor, which I greatly enjoy and is extremely rewarding.
I also enjoy being with my family and my hobbies are travel, playing piano, swimming, ballet and photography.
Teaching Experience:
Following my BSc and PhD, I was a university lecturer and senior lecturer in the maths department at the University of Surrey for many years and since 2014 I have been private tutoring A level/GCSE, STEP, MAT, TMUA and University level Maths full time. I achieved a First Class honours degree (BSc) in Mathematics and Statistics followed by a PhD in Mathematical Statistics, both from the University of London.
I have tutored many A level and GCSE Tutees, from all examination boards and IB candidates and University students over the years in the UK and overseas. I love Maths, which I have since I was small, and I strongly believe that understanding how Maths works makes the subject more exciting and motivating. It also increases a Tutee's ability to cope with the unexpected stretching questions on A level and University exam papers. I have had a great deal of success with my Tutees, including one who was told by their school that they were incapable of passing foundation Maths and who went on to A level Maths with me and then to get a First Class honours degree in Engineering. Many of my Tutees have successfully obtained Oxbridge offers and then secured their places.
With my specialist Statistics knowledge I can help A level students do really well on their applied Statistics/Mechanics papers as well as the pure, which is an area they often struggle with. Due to my many years of university lecturing experience I have subsequently tutored many degree candidates from various universities in the UK. I have excellent references over the years from the parents and my tutees.
Tutoring Approach:
I am a friendly, approachable tutor who allows tutees to feel comfortable and encourage them to ask anything that they do not understand. My aim is that they enjoy Maths and can apply and understand the subject with ease. I have tutored many A level and GCSE Tutees, from all examination boards and IB candidates and University students over the years in the UK and overseas. I love Maths, which I have since I was small, and I strongly believe that understanding how Maths works makes the subject more exciting and motivating. I am a professional tutor and qualified English teacher with over 25 years' experience in education. A graduate of King's College, London, I gained my teaching qualification at Jordanhill, Glasgow in 2010, and have taught in schools across Scotland since then.
As well as being a teacher I am also a writer, and have eight titles published. I write for both children and adults, and my first children's novel won the Royal Mail Award, Scottish Children's Book Award, and is still on the First Minister's Reading list. In this capacity I have visited schools and libraries since 2006, encouraging literacy among the young.
Teaching Experience:
I have over 25 years' experience teaching in schools across Scotland. I have been a professional tutor since 2014, and have numerous testimonials from parents and students who have found my support invaluable. I have also acted as a teaching fellow in universities, to help students improve their critical thinking skills and their academic writing. With an excellent track record since 2014, over 20 years' experience in education, and the expertise of a qualified English teacher, my lessons are shaped around the student's needs, pace and goals.
Tutoring Approach:
I offer supportive, flexible one-to-one tuition for National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher English students studying the Scottish Curriculum. I have created a range of teaching resources to help students understand poetry, drama and prose, and to develop their skills and confidence. From understanding a challenging poem to constructing a persuasive essay, my lessons make key concepts clearer and help students approach English with confidence. I offer resources to support progress between sessions, while a reassuring environment means students can ask questions freely and never feel left behind. I help students prepare for Higher English with targeted support in close reading, critical essay writing skills, folio writing and exam technique.
