Personal Description:
Friendly and informal, I tailor tutoring to individual needs. I am married with a young family and enjoy the flexibility that tutoring gives me with my business hours. I see tutoring as a valuable resource for the student who can gain great insight in a one to one session
Teaching Experience:
I have been a personal tutor for over 12 years, helping many students with maths and sciences, mostly at GCSE level. In addition I have experience as a Lecturer at The University of Huddersfield and at Wakefield District College. Where I taught computer science and I.T.
Since 2000 I have been looking to focus more on music and to develop this as my specialism. I can assist with Music theory up to around Grade 5 and Piano and Keyboards from beginner to intermediate level.
Tutoring Approach:
Individually tailored to the student. I prefer a sytematic approach, followed up by individual study by the student. I regularly assess student progress to ensure full understanding and encourage background reading for breadth of knowledge.

Personal Description:
A highly effective teacher; experienced, well organised, motivated, enthusiastic, with good sense of humour.
I establish rapport with my students. In my long career in teaching, I have learned how to make the most complex concepts in science 'digestible'. My motto is: 'Excellence in Education'.
I am a member of Pi Lambda Theta (International Honour Society in Education).
Teaching Experience:
I am a qualified Teacher/Lecturer, and have taught for over thirty years in Secondary, and Further/Higher Education in the US, the EU, and the UK. I have taught the AQA, Edexcel, OCR, and the International Baccalaureate specifications.
In addition to teaching students, I have trained teachers, as well.
Tutoring Approach:
While my Bachelor's Degree is in Biomedical Science, my Master's Degree is in Education with emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction, which means I have trained in designing and delivering effective lesson plans, as well as a complete curriculum. I design my instruction taking into account the student's learning style. The 'one size fits all' approach to teaching is responsible for the failure of many students. Every student can learn and can do well, provided the teaching style accommodates the student's learning style, and there are no 'gaps' in what is prerequisite knowledge for taking a certain course.
Knowledge builds on pre-existing knowledge. I make certain that my students really understand and appreciate that. I diagnose any 'gaps' in content knowledge that my students may have, and I 'fill' them, providing a solid foundation for my students to build on.
Study skills, which figure prominently in my teaching, and exam technique, along with a well-rounded, in-depth knowledge of content, provide the key to success.
At the end of the course, my students not only do they have what they need to tackle the Biology, Chemistry, or Psychology Exam, but also a wealth of learning skills which they can apply to other subjects as well, and which they will find essential in all their future academic studies.
Educational technology supplements my instruction. The content in every session is presented on PowerPoint with quality images. I clarify every point and make certain my student has 'grasped' the present concept before I proceed with the next. Where appropriate, the PPT presentation is followed by a brief video which makes the content 'come alive'. My PowerPoint presentations, as well as my notes on PDF or Word files are available for my students after the lesson.
I finish the lesson practicing exam - style questions, and I provide my students with lots of past exam papers. It goes without saying that regular revision is very important.

I am married with 3 children and live in the Chorley area. I graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University in 1979 with a degree in Construction Management and spent the first 12 years of my working life in the construction industry. I have tutored a number of Primary School children during school closures and lockdowns and have access to a wealth of Secondary and Primary resources.
I have recently started tutoring as part of the National Tutoring Programme (NTP) giving on line lessons as part of the Government initiative to enable pupils to catch up on lost learning.
I am now offering online lessons at a rate of £25 per hour for Primary and G.C.S.E.
Levels. My Enhanced DBS is up to date and I subscribe to the updating service.
Teaching Experience:
I taught at Stockport College for 11 years retired from Oldham Sixth Form College in 2014 after almost 13 years there. Teaching Experience:
I have been teaching since 1990. At first for language schools in London. I have been working for myself for many years. I teach one to one or small groups.
Tutoring Approach:
Every person is different so I adapt my style of teaching to the student. To be successful at tutoring I believe you need to listen to the student's needs and understand how they think. I am very good at that and getting on with the student is crucial to be able to impart your knowledge of the subject. Willingness to learn is key and I keep a good gradient to make sure they remain willing.

For adult learners who are interested in using the language in real life situations in countries where Spanish is spoken, I adapt my teaching to cover life situations in which they will use the language abroad.

Personal Description:
You will find in me an extremely calm, caring and committed teacher. Kensington-based, I have over thirty years teaching experience both as a class teacher and one-to-one tutor. Identifying gaps quickly and working with a student's learning style is key. I believe confidence in speaking and writing grows with exposure to high-quality conversation and reading as well as active vocabulary extension. I focus on all three as well as on exam technique and content.
I bring my extensive background as a teacher of English as a Foreign Language and also as an actor to bear on teaching the deeper mechanics of the language in addition to its its more poetic and literary aspects.
As a mother of five, I am family-oriented and often teach entire families. I have an active interest in history, philosophy and politics, enjoy cycling and am a huge Led Zeppelin fan.
Teaching Experience:

General, Business , Conversational and Legal English; Interview Practice; Presentation skills; Email English; Proof Reading; Citizenship Preparation
Tutoring Approach:
My goal is to adapt to your learning style and help you reach the targets you set yourself. Good rapport and a relaxed environment are essential for learning. I work hard to establish both. I am comfortable with all ages and stages and try to make both my teaching and your learning a pleasurable experience.

Personal Description:
Hi! My name is Brandon and I'm a Chartered Structural Engineer working in London part time and from home part time, in Hartford. I have been working professionally for 10 years now and have been involved in the design of some of London's most iconic skyscrapers. My job enables me to carry out mathematical problem solving on a daily basis, meaning I can easily transfer these skills into a tutoring environment and find pleasure in doing so.
I graduated from the University of Manchester in 2014 with a first class (hons) Masters degree in Civil and Structural Engineering.
Teaching Experience:
I have experience in tutoring GCSE & A-Level Maths and Physics in London, as well as assisting several students through their university applications. I have had great success in improving my tutees grades and helping them prepare more effectively for their exams and university applications.
I have also assisted the learning of many younger engineers in my day job, through weekly mentoring and coaching.
Tutoring Approach:
I like to start by spending some time to understand any problems or questions that the student might have, that may have recently arisen at school.
With subjects like Maths and Physics, an important way for students to understand problems is to visualise them before they can be solved. I usually employ analogies to help my students understand concepts and then test their understanding using exam type questions.

Personal Description:
Hello! I'm Garrie, a tutor for Maths/Physics/Engineering/Chemistry/Computing at university and secondary school level, and one of the top-rated tutors in Scotland.
I am a full-time tutor, with a background in academic teaching and research, having previously held posts as Research Assistant / Teacher at the University of Glasgow's School of Engineering.
I graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2011 with a first class B.Eng. (Hons) in Aeronautical Engineering, finishing at the top of my class. I also previously conducted postgraduate research and teaching duties at the University of Strathclyde.
I am deeply passionate about my subject and the fields which underpin it. I enjoy sharing that passion with others, and helping them to comprehend these subjects in a way that is hopefully inspiring and interesting to them.
Teaching Experience:
Having tutored for over 15 years, I've helped 500+ students improve their grades and achieve the exam results they were hoping for.
I've helped students from across the globe, including high school students sitting Scottish SQA qualifications (Nat 5, Higher, Advanced Higher, HNC and HND, etc), AS/A levels from various UK exam boards (AQA, OCR, Pearson/Edexcel and WJEC Eduqas), and University students from Mathematics, Physics, Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical and Civil Engineering departments across the UK. I also prepare students for entrance exams to top schools/universities, and help mature students prepare to return to education after a break.
In my previous roles I lectured course modules and supervised student projects in a top 100 global university in my role at the University of Glasgow's School of Engineering. I taught subjects of all levels across the engineering disciplines (aerospace, mechanical, electronics/electrical) - from foundation years, undergrad, up to postgrad MSc/Masters level, and have an excellent reputation and feedback within the School of Engineering.
I also taught in my role as a research student at the University of Strathclyde, providing tuition and guidance to Mechanical Engineering undergrads during lab demonstrations and tutorials.
Tutoring Approach:
Each student has individual needs and learning styles, and I aim to tailor my approach to match the student, and give them some control over how they want to be taught.
Students will have a say in what they learn from me, and how we approach it, helping me to identify their strengths and weaknesses, and structure a learning programme that complements them.
I intend for my students to gain a solid foundation and interest in their subject, and develop their own revision skills to improve their capacity for independent learning - it isn't just about passing the exam, but about nurturing an interest the subject and developing skills for the future.
I believe that the best way to learn is to enjoy yourself while doing it, so I aim to keep the sessions engaging for the student.
I am not a secondary school teacher, and do not teach like one. Feedback from clients suggests that the approach of many teachers doesn't resonate with all students, often failing to inspire them/their children to take an interest in a subject that could be interesting for them if they were introduced to it from the correct perspective. I aim to provide that missing perspective - expanding on what's taught in the classroom and filling in the gaps are left in the classroom.

Personal Description:
I am a second-year student at Imperial College London studying Physics. Tutoring has always been my calling. I am an eager and responsible individual with a passion for maths and physics. I am on a mission to be able to help other students and kindle the same excitement in them. I believe a tutor should be flexible in their teaching methods and be able to create a friendly and comfortable environment with their students where all their misconceptions can be cleared and questions answered with real progress tracking.
Teaching Experience:
I have worked at Premier Tuition in London and from there on I have been tutoring online and getting amazing feedback from my tutees. Parents trust me to be able to give their children a gentle push in the right direction. I specialize in maths and physics and I have also previously been a Science Ambassador at my Sixth form college. It has now been 3 years since I have started tutoring and I have no intentions to stop anytime soon!
Tutoring Approach:
My methods are simplistic but get the job done. I believe that explaining concepts with a clear background of where this information comes from helps students grasp information a lot quicker and I have experienced this being skipped at school myself. I am very versatile and can tutor 1:1 or in small groups. In addition, I am personally available 24/7 to all my students and give hands-on homework help throughout the week as I am fully committed to my students' progress. I am also keen on building a strong relationship with the student's parent so we can discuss progress and things your child is struggling with. For that, I usually suggest a call once a month to have a detailed discussion on your child's progress and test results.
I also have the first meeting with my student and a little assessment (verbal or written) to judge which level they're at and what I can do to help them best. That is done free of charge.

Third year University of Glasgow student, studying Geology, with electives in chemistry, calculus and astonomy. In my spare time I enjoy getting outdoors, reading and sewing!
Teaching Experience:
I have tutored GCSE level chemistry and maths for two years, and worked with young people up to the ages of 16 at summer camps.
Tutoring Approach:
I strongly believe that the best method of learning is practice. I personally like making mindmaps, flashcards and doing plently of practice questions, as these are methods of active recall which is proven to be the best revision method. I find I learn best when I make mistakes, and then I am given guidance on how to fix them, which is how I will aim to teach.
