As a professional and creative native Chinese teacher, I have over 10 years of experience showcasing skilful teaching abilities in successfully teaching Chinese to support a diverse array of students.

I Utilize Various Teaching Skills and Techniques to Address Individual Needs -

Each learner is unique and absorbs information in their own way, so I apply various teaching strategies and techniques tailored to each individual. To illustrate my approach, I categorize learners into children and adults. Children typically have a limited attention span but are drawn to games, stories, songs, and rhymes, so I incorporate interactive activities of this nature into the classroom. This approach helps words and sentences to be absorbed more easily and naturally, keeping the children fully focused and engaged. Colourful flashcards are both enjoyable and effective. After providing guidance and demonstrations, I encourage young learners to creatively construct their own phrases and simple sentences. The children enjoy this process and perform exceptionally well.

To maintain motivation and inspiration among adult learners, I encourage and support them to take charge of the class. I help them engage in various thinking and communication exercises after they've understood the theoretical information and knowledge. I deliberately guide students to use the target language by incorporating it into daily activities and familiar environments as language resources. Three weeks later I took a Chinese proficiency test and placed at mid-novice level (the test was aimed at people who had 120+ hours learning time, I had eight hours under my belt). I spent two years working as a Graduate science Coach at Blue Coat Academy in Walsall. I taught Science to small groups of KS3 and GCSE students and had a year 11 tutor group.

In January 2016 I began working for the Open University as an Associate Lecturer. Initially I taught on SDK100 Science and Health which is a 60 credit level 1 comprising nine key topics in Health Sciences.

I now teach on three further modules within the STEM faculty; SK299 Human Biology, SK320 Infectious Disease & Public Health and U116 Environment: Journeys through a changing world.

I believe that the key to successful tuition is building a strong working relationship with students. Once I've got to know how my students learn best and what they enjoy I am able to tailor my lessons to their specific needs. I am particularly good at engaging students and helping them to build their confidence. I am a very experienced teacher of English and Drama at GCSE, A-level, undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
