I am a graduate from the University of Sunderland - BSc hons Information Technology and Education - 2:1. I have been teaching for twenty successful years. I'm Head of Mathematics teaching GCSE Mathematics and GCSE ICT at a school in Northumberland. I have excellent experience teaching GCSE Maths, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Publisher and Access. My personal teaching philosophy is to ensure each tutee achieves his/her best with my support. Recently retired. Until the advent of Covid I would always travel to the tutee. I was forced into online tutoring very reluctantly. Being happy with the technology meant the transition was much smoother than I anticipated.
I am now so happy with this method of tutoring I would even use it if the tutee was living next door.
For some years now I have been tutoring mainly A level to students all over England and Wales. This means I have become conversant with all relevant Exam boards. Although I have tutored EDEXCEL I would now restrict this to the first year. The second year is very specialised in parts and not to my liking. I'm currently studying for a BSc in Economics at Durham University, where I'll be entering my second year after achieving a first-class average in my first year.
