Hello! My name is Yulia. I am a native Russian speaker, fluent in English, graduated in the Russian Federation (Moscow) and worked there later on for over 7 years. For the last 10years I have been living and working in the UK and this has allowed me to develop a better understanding of the English language, its cultural nuances, people and life. I was kindly surprised that there are people out there who are truly interested in learning Russian and therefore I felt that I could help them to learn one of the most difficult languages in an easy and affordable ways.
Every year I spend some time in Russia to maintain connection with the Russian language in the most effective way while enjoying company of my family and friends.

I use a large variety of textbooks with CD and DVD-supplement, training materials for the development of speech, writing, listening and reading comprehension skills, which helps to make the learning process as effective and productive as possible. I currently run a Russian group course for the beginners.
My degree in law and experience in teaching Russian ensures the quality of the final result- you are able to communicate in Russian. In order to make a learning process as interesting as possible I will prepare an individual language plan for you based on your own learning style and ability, language requirements, time commitment and any personal motivations you might have to learn Russian.
If you are learning Russian from scratch and want to become fluent, my aim is to help you to explore the language in its complexity straight from the beginning. From my experience grammar and vocabulary is a key to the successful learning process and ability to communicate with a great confidence but studying just grammar can be quite difficult or daunting, that is why a combination of audio, visual and interactive activities, which I try to integrate into my lessons, help to bring more fun and promising results.

I have been tutoring students across London in all aspects of Computing since 2015. Having a PhD and a 1st Class Degree in Computer Science from Sheffield University, I have a great deal of experience in everything from general programming to academic research. I worked for a decade as an academic at both Sheffield and Surrey Universities. I have helped many students through their studies at GCSE and A-level, teaching AQA, OCR and CIE syllabuses. I am also happy to teach adult learners who are looking to expand their skillset.

For A-level and GCSE students it is worth beginning tuition as soon as possible, not just in the weeks running up to exams (although this can still help). This is particularly important for Computer Science because students should be learning a programming language in parallel with their studies. Some exam boards require a programming project as coursework, and it is important that this is completed as soon as possible to leave room for exam preparation.

I am happy to help degree students with theory and learning programming, but enquiries asking for help with an assignment for hand in next week are unlikely to be followed up.

I have been teaching students online mostly since the beginning of the pandemic. Many students are used to this type of teaching now, and the tools available have made it much more viable. Whilst teaching in person is, in my opinion, superior, the convenience of audio/video calls and the ability to reach more students from more varied backgrounds has been invaluable.

I am a music graduate, with aims to go into music lecturing. I am about to start an MA in Applied Musicology at Utrecht University. I decided to start Skype tuition because it`s an incredibly effective medium for teaching, and also because I don`t stay in one place for longer than a year at the moment due to being a student.

I have been playing guitar since I was 8 years old, so for over 14 years now. I studied at Leeds College of Music for 2 years, and have recently graduated from Anglia Ruskin University with a BA(Hons) degree in Popular Music. I have played a range of styles, but find my favourite, and most developed, styles are funk and blues.
