Through the years, the goal of educating young children has been the focus of my chosen work experiences, both in Health and Social Care (Level 3) at A Level to outside the classroom. From shadowing Early Years Practitioners to assisting Reception class teachers, I have made my rounds from school to school. During my time volunteering at the local community centre, I aided in many after school and summer school activities. The aim; to widen the experiences and opportunities for the children of Somali refugees. This included sports-based activities in the summer holiday, football club, art club, dance as well as outside sourced leisure interests. My reasoning for volunteering here is that I was once one of these children and this was the same community centre that widened my own horizons. However, this did not have my focus, instead, afterschool homework club did. These experiences showed me that I am willing to go above and beyond for the children that need it both in and out of the classes.

As a nanny for two children in Key Stages' 1 and 2, I was fortunate enough to gain experiences of at home teaching of curriculum-based resources provided by the school during the lockdown. It was an invaluable insight into primary school curriculums and gave me the necessary experience needed into teaching, without leaving the house. I aimed to follow these schedules down to the break and lunch times to give the children a sense of normality and a readiness to learn during this unpredictable time.

Tutoring Approach:
Teaching is a rewarding job where children learn through fun and grow to become more inspired and confident learners. Its challenges include time management, differentiating learning styles and lack of funding to name a few. I found time management to be the most important of all, not only for the children but also to aid the teacher themselves, both in and out of the classroom. This leaves time and energy to brainstorm teaching styles specifically for the children being taught, to create a classroom where children with varying learning styles can be educated differently yet equally.

There are a set number of qualities that all teachers must possess to work with children learned during my work experiences in a nursery and primary schools and after school homework programme at the local community centre. This includes patience with the children, kindness and empathy, and of course; an eagerness to learn themselves. These are all qualities I have acquired from constant self-reflection and obtaining criticism from peers and established personnel in the education field. The most important being communication. I'm Necdet and am a student of Boğaziçi University's teaching physics program. I have successfully completed the first year without failing any of my lesson and getting a GPA of 2.42. I am a Turkish Cypriot and I am quite familiar to the GCSE and A-level curriculum. Apart from my academic background I'd like to address couple more stuff I have in my life. First off I have to state that I love learning and teaching new stuff, and also I believe teaching is the older brother of learning; as you can not say that you have learned something deeply if you are unable to teach it to someone that does not know it; like I play chess and have been the 6th table player of my municipality's chess team. Even though I have attended many many games with that team I was not aware of the fact that thinking simple would actually be a benefit in any game, and I realized this when last year I have aided an association's chess team in stars category as an educator. When working with youngsters that are looking at the game much simpler than you do, you have to match their energy and try to predict what obstacles may get in their way, and I believe this working experience improved me quite a bit in that matter. There are couple more sports that I am into and have been a part of, I have listed them in my CV and I do not want to make this message too long and boring so I am stopping here:))
