Personal Description:
I am a professional writer, with four books and several articles published. I write about eighteenth and nineteenth century history. I have two children and live in Brighton.
Teaching Experience:
Before I became a historian, I travelled a great deal and taught English and history to children, teenagers and adults in England, Italy, Spain and Australia.
Tutoring Approach:
I think students need to be stimulated to learn, which means tapping each individual's imagination and capabilities. Compared to many teachers, I am strict - firstly because I think students will take a subject more seriously if they see their teacher being serious about it; and secondly because if you're paying for a lesson, you need to get the most out of it.
