Personal Description:
I achieved the highest grades at GCSE and A-Level, and went on to complete a BSc in Mathematics with Finance and Management at King's College London. Since graduating, I have worked in the financial services during which I have continued learning and practising maths. I'm currently studying and working with financial pricing models and my passion for maths is still burning!
Teaching Experience:
I've taught many people many things, whether it be maths, software applications, accounting, finance, cooking or swimming! I've always worked well with others and often used the teaching of others to help improve my own understanding, throughout GCSEs, A-Levels and University. Although I've not practised tutoring as a job before, I am confident in my abilities to teach and fully enjoy the process and reward!
Tutoring Approach:
Drawing from personal experience, the thing I find most helpful whilst understanding maths is attempting to verbally explain exactly what it is you don't understand. This helps to pin point the problem and shed light on any shady areas surrounding the problem, as well as highlight what you do know and in turn, increase confidence in maths. I like to spend some time analysing areas of weakness and then put together a study plan(not strict) through which we can efficiently tackle the various subjects. Establishing effective ways of teaching individual students is important; whether it be visually, verbally or actively, and will be established early on also. I'm not strict on time spent, I will happily spend a bit more time getting it right for the same price!
