Personal Description:
My name's James and I'm a qualified teacher of English. I've taught English from year 7 through to A-level as well as film studies to 6th form. I have extensive experience of teaching English as a foreign language which I've taught both here in the UK as well as abroad.
Teaching Experience:
I have taught at a variety of language schools here in the UK teaching English as a foreign language, as well as living and working in Spain to teach English to students there. I gained Qualified Teacher Status through the Graduate Teacher Programme which is a different route to the more traditional PGCE. I was employed full time as an unqualified teacher by a school as I worked towards QTS, which gave me a vast amount more experience working with students of all ages and abilities in my training year than a university based course. After gaining QTS I obtained a position with a local school where I currently teach now.
Tutoring Approach:
I am a young teacher who aims to offer a fresh approach to tutoring, adapting material to make it as current, contemporary and relevant to students as possible. I enjoy working with students to create a tailor made learning plan for their individual needs, which addresses their requirements, interests and own unique learning style.
