Chris - Acton tutor
Information About Chris:
Personal Description:
I'm a friendly, experienced, adaptable and patient academic and am looking to tutor in West London.
Are you a secondary school student who just needs that little extra help to get your head around quadratic equations?
An A-level student who really want to aim high and secure that University place with an 'A' grade?
Or a Biology student at University that really need someone to help them get to grips with metabolism?
Whatever your level of knowledge and confidence, I am happy to help! I love teaching and have significant teaching and tutoring experience.
Teaching Experience:
During studying for my A-levels, I tutored maths and biology privately for several GCSE students. This gave me an early insight in how to put new ideas and concepts across in a friendly, comprehensive and easy-to-grasp manner.
During my final year of study in my undergraduate degree, I tutored students in their first year of Biological Sciences.
I have also taught English as a foreign language at Primary school level, which enabled me to hone my presentation skills as well as giving me valuable experience in teaching young children.
Tutoring Approach:
I believe the best way to learn new concepts and ideas is to have them presented to you in a relevant, interesting and enjoyable manner. This is something that I have been told many times is one of my strengths. It also helps in developing a rapport with the student, which is vital for maintaining interest, especially in some areas of mathematics and science!
I am also very patient and considerate, and will angle tutoring to highlight your strengths to ensure that confidence levels are always high. This is something I personally believe is vital to continuing your drive to ace that exam!
I will always ensure that what you need to know for your exam is covered in full. We can cover interesting extras if it helps maintain interest, but I will always ensure that all the key points are covered and that you are fully prepared in taking on that exam.
