Brian - Aberdeen tutor

Information About Brian:

Personal Description:

I am a mature professional with many years experience in local authority arts work, as well as in the commercial sector - both in music promotion, and in the broadcast media sector as a digital video editor. I am also a recently qualified secondary school teacher in Art & Design. In addition, I have many years experience teaching English as a Foreign Language overseas.

Teaching Experience:

I ran a local authority video & film workshop for 8 years, teaching media skills to a range of people of all ages and abilities. I also taught English as a Foreign Language in Germany for 6 years, teaching in private companies, education colleges, and secondary schools. As a recently qualified teacher in Scotland, I am aware of the current education system and the SQA examination levels and procedures.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to focus on clear goals and learning objectives, and build on previous learning. With one to one tuition I can offer the support and encouragement which can be absent in whole class teaching and learning. As a recently qhalified teacher I recognise the difficulties experienced by many school pupils within the education system, and I am able to offer a personal and clear approach to the learning experience. As a language teacher too, I understand and promote good communication and language/literacy skills.
