Personal Description:

I am currently doing my PhD in Computer Science from University of York. I did my MS in Computer Science from Michigan State University, USA with a GPA of 3.75 out of 4.0. Before that I did my BSc in Electrical Engineering with honours.

I have used a variety of tools for different tasks: C++, Java, Scheme and Prolog for programming; MS Excel, MS Word and MS Power point for my job; perl scripts for research purposes; Alice for teaching school kids animation and many others.

Teaching Experience:

I have more than 3 years experience of teaching under-grads at the university level. I have also been demonstrating under-grad students for almost 2 years now at University of York. I also have experience of teaching Alice to school kids. I also have industrial experience where I develop economic models in MS Excel.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to teach in an interactive manner and try to use as much technical aids as possible, since I have a technical background. I encourage curiosity among students. When my students can not comprehend the problem I try to break it down into smaller modules so they get confidence by working on easier problems first and then scaling up their solutions to solve the main problem. I encourage questioning and try to answer the students even if I have to explain more than once.
