Personal Description:
I'm Neil I'm a relaxed, patient person and easy to get along with. I can help you with History, Geography, Politics or English.
I'm from Brighton and am keen to help out anyone who requires any level of help with their subjects for one session or for one year. I continue to read around my subjects and have a genuine enthusiasm and passion for them which (I hope!) passes onto my tutees.
Teaching Experience:
My teaching experience has come from a variety of places, most notably at Sussex University where I mentored first year undergraduates. I believe that areas such as exam technique and revision are as important as learning the subject and I have many years experience, having successfully negotiated my way through years of exams, GCSEs and A-levels.
Leading seminars at university required careful preparation and planning and I use the same technique to enable successful tutoring.
Tutoring Approach:
I am a patient tutor, helping each tutee as an individual. I like to adapt to each case whether it be working on a topic already covered and which needs explaining; or teaching a topic from scratch.
If help with exam technique is needed that's no problem, I can show where attention should be focussed in exams.
