Personal Description:
I am a friendly, patient and enthusiastic tutor. I am a recent graduate of Oxford University, with a high first class degree in Chemistry. I received a high first at the end of each year's examinations, and was awarded seven academic scholarships and prizes. I am currently studying economics at the University of Cambridge and am available to tutor during the holidays.
Teaching Experience:
I have been tutoring maths and chemistry at A level and GCSE for seven years, and so am highly experienced with almost every kind of student. I also taught maths and chemistry A level for 3 months in an international school in Sri Lanka.
Tutoring Approach:
I enjoy tutoring and teach maths and chemistry in a clear, methodical and energetic way.
I would be equally happy to teach new topics, go over past ones in detail or help with more general revision for mocks, resits or any other exams. When it comes to exams, I fully understand the need to develop exam technique in order to get the best results.
I can help with university interview preparation, teaching the sort of chemistry that is likely to be asked and developing interview technique. Or, on a more one off basis, I can give mock interviews followed by feedback and advice. I can also help with all standard and some advanced topics at chemistry degree level.
I am more than happy to do extra marking included in the hourly rate.
Finally, I actually sat these various exams not that long ago, so am very familiar with the being on the both sides of the learning process!
