Benjamin - Lytham St. Annes tutor

Information About Benjamin:

Personal Description:

Hi,

I am 33 years old, I hold an honours degree in Computer Science, a masters degree in computer science, and a PhD. I am an engineer in the aerospace industry and I have taught for the last 12 years. For the 2010-2011 session several of my students obtained top marks in their respective subject areas with one student gaining 100% in both Core 3 and Core 4 EdExcel papers.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught at university level with students ranging from children with special needs to adults who have returned to university at a later stage in life. I have also coached students who wish to sit police force entry examinations. In the past 12 months I have tutored over 20 different students, this has allowed me to gain a detailed appreciation of the ever-changing requirements of the varying examination bodies.

Tutoring Approach:

I favour a 1 to 1 tuition approach. By teaching a student in their own home/environment I believe they learn more from the session. I also build un-paid breaks into my sessions as I feel a student will learn more from, for example two half-hour sessions than one one-hour session. I offer group tutoring (usually students in the same class) and this will reduce the overall costs of sessions. I provide materials and set homework for each student while being constantly available for support outwith the lessons. For longer term commitments it is possible to negotiate discounts.
