Personal Description:

I am a Malaysian Chinese currently in my final year of PhD study in Biology (plant developmental genetics) at the University of Sheffield.

Constrating to the stereotypical generalisation about high achievers, I have a friendly and cheerful outlook, being an easygoing, flexible and responsible person.

Tutoring Approach:

I adopt flexible and personalised approach to cater for students at different levels and I wish to conduct the learning process in a relax and fun environment. I am motivated to disseminate beyond subject-specific knowledge in encouraging the awareness of transferable skills (writing and critical thinkings) and to put things into context by helping tutee to realise the implications of a specific topic in a wider perspective. This often involve discussion beyond the subject on which I'm tutoring to help understanding and tips to get top mark in the exams including calculator technology. Furthermore, you'll be getting more value for the money you spent as I frequently do over time without charging. My objective is to achieve an agreed level of understanding within a session with my tutee which is not strictly adhere to the timeslot.

  • INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE (44) equivalent to AAAAA in A-levels
  • 7s in Maths HL, Chem HL, IT SL, English SL and Bio HL
  • 6s in Malay SL; As in ToK and Extended Essay
  • BSc Biology 1st class Hons
