Personal Description:
I believe that we can all develop and excel when given the right tools to do so. I have a passion for using my creative flare to create individualise approaches to learning. We all have different ways of learning and that is why my approach varies according to the needs of my learners. I promote resilience, hard work and a love of learning. I incorporate drama into my learning approach to bring literature to life and I ensure that all my tutoring links to the national curriculum. My approach is very much learner led. I will adapt my approach to support a unique and robust learning experience.

Teaching Experience:

I am a qualified teacher with a wealth of experience. I have worked with a broad range of ages throughout my career.

I have taught Drama/English to both KS3 and KS4 in a secondary school setting. I also worked as a cover supervisor for two years in a secondary school setting and this experience allowed me to expand my skills.

I have taught English in a primary school setting. I have also spend a period of time in the EYFS (early years foundation stage) and I am able to cater my tutoring to younger children. I have a full awareness of the primary and secondary curriculum.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach is very much learner led. I will adapt my approach to support a unique and robust learning experience. I will help learners to set challenging goals and achieve them regardless of what stage they are at.

Personal Description:
I am a Spanish native speaker from the south of Spain and have been living in the UK for eight years now. I studied for a degree in Translation and Interpretation and for a couple of postgraduate masters, one relating to education.
I have always been interested in learning languages and the culture of the countries where they are spoken. Therefore you will have the chance to learn about Spanish daily habits, gastronomy, hobbies and important events that happen around the year.
It is key for me to know why you want to learn the language and which Spanish speaking country you are visiting, as the contents and language of the lessons will be oriented to these requirements. Your learning style and preferences are important to me as well. Some learners prefer to base their lessons around conversations only and others are happy to have a few grammar based lessons, then conversation, then enjoying reading a book passage or a poem. My extensive library of resources will always have something that interests you.

Teaching Experience:

10 years teaching experience in the UK. This includes over 4 year secondary school work (first as a language assistant, then as a qualified MFL teacher).
Set up as self-employed in 2011 as a freelance adult educator and translator in the Spanish and French languages. During this time I have delivered adult education for local education authorities as well as private courses, primary school education and one-to-one tuition. As part of my Professional Development Plan I completed a Teacher Training Course at the Instituto Cervantes in Leeds, a key reference institution for Spanish teachers around the world.
Testimonials of happy customers are available upon request.

Tutoring Approach:

Fun but professional!
Learning programme is tailored to your needs and additional materials for independent learning can be provided after lessons. Doing a bit of work at home helps making progress.
You can choose to either follow a text book or allow me to cherry pick materials designed to help you achieve your course aims.
Flexible lesson times, you can have your lessons at a different time or day as we all have work and family commitments happening throughout the year. Just let me know well in advance please.
(Note: since you'll be charged a fee to obtain my tutoring details, the first lesson will be half price, it involves an initial meeting and teaching, totalling 1hr).
Note: the tariffs shown are for one-to-one tuition only. I can only travel 4-5 miles from my postcode.
If you live further afield, you can come to my local area or have your lessons via Skype.
Also, and as you may understand, I have to make a living and people have messed me up in the past, therefore cancellations made within 24 hours before the lesson will be charged at 10 GBP unfortunately.
Please note I do not teach GCSE nor young children as I specialise in adult education and A-level at present.

Personal Description:
I am a highly trained, experienced, self motivated and flexible individual with excellent organisational/interpersonal and communication skills, able to operate at all levels, with students from all backgrounds and nationalities.
I began my Photographic career over twenty years ago, then slowly slipped into Film making as a natural progression.
I have shot photographic projects and films all over the world, and have been an ambassador representing several schools, colleges and universities whilst involved in this work.

Teaching Experience:

I have over twenty years of Photography and Film making experience, working abroad to shoot several short films in Prague, Paris, Africa and China. I have worked with both African and Chinese students in their countries, shooting a variety of Photographic and Film projects, having spent three months, and one month in these respective countries.

I have over twenty years of teaching/training experience in various establishments, Schools, Colleges, Universities, and with various council's throughout the Midlands. I have over twenty years of experience of dealing with a wide variety of students , from various backgrounds. I have worked with students of all ages, from primary school, to adult students in their eighties!
I have worked with people from mental health units, drug rehabilitation centres, and the probation services, using the creative media and arts as a form of therapy to bring about positive change.

Over twenty years of writing and delivering bespoke re-engagement training courses in a wide variety of areas (including photography, film making, digital imaging, film and media studies, literacy, numeracy, preparation for work training, CV writing, personal motivation and decision making), to disenfranchised, marginalised students.

Excellent computer/I.T. skills using a wide range of high end/professional software for video editing, image manipulation and audio visual presentations/performances.
Extensive experience of curriculum development, development of schemes of work, child protection policies, professional practices, and internal verification of work using assessment criteria from a multitude of awarding bodies.
I have been associated with UK Tutors since 2005.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to teaching is a very relaxed, informal one, giving the student ample opportunity to attempt things for themselves, and to allow them to flex their own creative and mental muscles with support and guidance where necessary.
Students are allowed to be themselves, feel relaxed , comfortable, to be able to make mistakes, without the pressure of being surrounded by or judged by their peers.
I often use projects to reinforce creative ideas or techniques, so that students begin to create their own portfolio's of their photographic work or video clips that they can use to create a show reel.

Personal Description:
Dear Parent / Student,
My name is Michael.
Now an online tuition specialist.
I am a fully qualified, professional and experienced teacher and tutor of Maths and Physics - to Key Stage 2, Key Stage 3, GCSE, IGCSE, AS / A2 - Level, as well as considerable experience as an examiner. I have taught and prepared students for medical school and successful Oxford and Cambridge entrance.
I offer tuition from my home in Whitton, either face - to - face tuition or online, or a mixture of the two.
Each of those options can work very well.

Teaching Experience:

With 25 + years of classroom teaching and tutoring across the full ability range from 8 years old to Adult, I am well aware of the common ( as well as the not so common ) misconceptions held by students of Physics and the difficult areas of Maths.

Over the last year I have developed my resources so that I can offer the same top quality tuition ONLINE to students anywhere in the UK and abroad as I can to face - to - face students.

Have you considered ONLINE tuition in Maths or Physics ? You might be pleasantly surprised. The technology these days enables us to have a learning experience which is just as effective as having your own, personal, tutor in a face - to - face meeting. You might like to try a free preliminary meeting online. It's free, so you have nothing to pay, nothing to lose. It just takes 30 minutes of your time.
What I do is to re - create, as closely as possible, the same learning experience as in a face - to - face meeting.

With my current online students (GCSE Maths) after some initial trepidation and months of preparation, I find it's easy to develop the same working relationship with parent and student - as I do in face - to - face, something I was sceptical about - at first, but not any more.

We use Skype for conversation. It's just like talking to parents and student around the same kitchen table! I can still share my qualifications, my certificates, my CRB / DBS, my references, and discuss the student's educational needs, just as I do face - to - face.

We also use and share an interactive online whiteboard, just like a sheet of paper between us, and of course screen - sharing technology to bring our tuition notes to the home of the student.
The student does not have to download anything to his / her computer (just Skype for free).
I use a graphics tablet and stylus to write on the whiteboard, and the student can write on it too.
We try to make the online learning experience and working relationship as similar as possible to the face - to - face experience and relationship.
It is an excellent option when travel distance is a problem OR if you would like sessions that are shorter than an hour.
Please get in touch by email or phone in the first instance.
If I'm unable to take your call please leave a short message and number and I'll return your call promptly.

Tutoring Approach:

Either Online or face - to - face, by discussion with the student I establish the needs of the student.
I collaborate with the student to devise teaching and learning strategies to suit the individual.

I offer top quality tuition - friendly, patient and reliable - to meet the needs of the individual student who wants to improve her / his grades and is prepared to work hard. Whether the student needs help with homework, coursework guidance, specific topics, revision strategies, or exam technique and practice at past exam papers, etc. . . help is available, and the student and parents WILL see improvement.

I am available for tuition during the day as well as after school.

I am based in Whitton, Twickenham. I offer tuition in my own home OR online.

Please discuss your tuition needs with me.

If you would like further details or to discuss your individual learning needs or to arrange a free consultation meeting please contact me.

Thank you for taking the time to read my advert.

Michael.

Personal Description:
I studied architecture then moved into the world of film and commercials as a set designer, training at the BBC and moving into the freelance world working on a variety of projects as a Set Designer and Stylist. My drawing skills have always been central to my varied art and design career .
In film I collaborated with a variety of creatives including directors ,lighting, costume, makeup, special effects designers, which was enriching and inspirational. Then I began to paint for other designers on their projects and my artwork became a larger part of my work.
Now I work mainly from my studio in Wimbledon on commissions (including painting ) for films & interiors, portrait commissions and my own personal projects in between tutoring.Drawing, painting, photoshop, collage, photography and model making are used in many of my projects. I currently have a painting in the BP Award 2016 at The National Portrait Gallery,London, then in Lincoln and finally to The Scottish National Portrait Gallery in Edinburgh until the end of March 2017.
I continue to be passionate about the visual world, creating and sharing my skills and experience, carefully designing my sessions to respond to the students requirements in an enjoyable and rewarding way.

Teaching Experience:

In recent years I found people came to my studio for advice and inspiration. I was then invited to be a visiting artist at a school in Kingston and began taking workshops for groups of varying age groups and abilities.
I have designed and run workshops for 'Gifted and Talented Children' and have recently been invited to devise workshops for the V&A.Recently I devised and supervised a project for a final year textile design student at Manchester University to work on a project with a working designer .The students I work with at the moment age from 6 years to adults. From Scholarship Applications to students needing help with university projects to professionals requiring assistance with projects.
My City & Guilds course for Delivering Learning enabled me to carefully design the projects to suit the students and their individual requirements.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a great believer in the unique value of creative skills to build confidence and enrich our lives in so many ways.
My sessions are carefully considered and devised to encourage my students to develop their talents and make it an inspirational and enjoyable experience.One-to-one Tutorials are a great opportunity to work on your own skills to enable you to produce that art & design portfolio, better pieces for your GCSE course work or for the practising artist or designer to inspire innovative ideas & concepts, alongside the exploration of materials, process and techniques.

Personal Description:
I am a 22 year old who is currently working at RWS translations group in Chalfont St Peter. I have recently graduated from Durham University with a 2.1 BA in Modern Languages (French and Italian). I also studied Spanish up to 2nd year. I enjoy speaking different languages and try to pass on my enthusiasm for languages to others.

Teaching Experience:

My third year at University was spent abroad. I chose to teach in France for 7 months in two primary schools which I very much enjoyed. I loved to chat to the children and try to get them to see the importance of learning English. I also au-paired for three months in Italy during my Year Abroad, which involved private lessons with a 7 year old. I have also previously tutored French, which included exam preparation, focusing on problematic areas and improving confidence. I understand how difficult languages can be, I believe I can sympathise with the student. The lesson must be fun and the student needs to understand the importance of learning a language, in order to be enthusiastic about it.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe languages are crucial in education. Throughout university I took part in Routes into Languages, a consortium of universities working together with schools and colleges, to enthuse and encourage people to study languages. This role involved planning taster classes for small groups, introducing a new language into their education and broadening their knowledge of the world and different cultures. I particularly enjoyed this role as I was enable to communicate the importance of languages and perhaps inspire some of the children to carry languages on past year 9.

Personal Description:
I am an enthusiastic native speaker Italian teacher qualified at the Italian Cultural Institute of London with a TIAFL (Teaching Italian as a Foreign Language) certificate. Furthermore, I have attained a Master's degree (Distinction) in Italian Literature at University of Bologna gaining an excellent command of the Italian language and a deep insight into the culture.

Teaching Experience:

During the intensive teacher training course TIAFL 'Teaching Italian as a Foreign language' at the Italian Cultural Institute in London I have taught to students of different levels including complete beginners and intermediate, planning innovative lessons and creating activities with authentic material.
I am currently working with one-to-one tuitions with a more tailored approach adapted to the student's needs and expectations.

Tutoring Approach:

I love involving students into the 'Italian world': natural and artistic heritage, social customs and peculiarities.
In my professional experience as a teacher I have developed a communicative approach able to show short-term improvements in the students' speaking ability and competence.
My lessons are student-centred enabling the tutee to effectively practise the language in an active way.
The interest is stimulated through innovative and engaging activities such as games adapted to language learning as well as audio, video and visual material.
The grammar is instructed through an inductive approach to make the student able to understand the concept within a specific context, and pronunciation is facilitated with a focus on individual phonemes, stress and intonation.
This active and engaging approach is the perfect way to stimulate the students' interest and motivation in learning a new language.

Personal Description:
I've just finished a degree in Film and TV in one of the best Universities in Spain (University of Navarra). I've moved to the UK in July 2014 because I was offered to work as an intern in a modest production company in Marlow, in Buckinghamshire. Since October, I've been living in London studying english so I can pass the exam that will allow me to go to an english University next September.

Teaching Experience:

This would be the first time that I'll be teaching spanish to a kid. Although I've been working for the past month with a little girl. But I can assure that the kids will learn as my classes will not be about studying but about having fun with craft, making recipes, playing games and more.

Tutoring Approach:

I'm a hard-working, trustworthy person that loves to play with kids. My teaching methods will be dynamic, practising essentially with the dialogue and not only with theory. The kids will be learning without even noticing. We'll play games, making recipes, etc.

Personal Description:
I have been teaching for 7 years and am currently taking a break to complete my Masters degree in cognitive neuroscience. I have most recently been teaching Psychology, Sociology and Health and Social care to A-level students.

I am a cheese loving, psychology adoring, fitness freak who enjoys blogging about dance, weightlifting and good nutrition! I have additional qualifications in anatomy and nutrition and enjoy sharing my knowledge on both these subjects and my mainstream subject specialisations.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught for 7 years, graduating from the University of Sussex in 2010 with a PGCE in middle years science. I have since taught GCSE, A-level and casual biology, psychology, sociology and health and social care. I have also taught KS2-3 maths, english, science and literacy skills. I have a 2:1 BSc degree in Psychology (Neuroscience) and am currently studying for an MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of Sussex.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that learning about my students is key - likes, dislikes and interests. This means that the subjects being taught can be tailored to fit the learning and understanding of the student. I enjoy working with students and teaching and feel that the natural excitement I feel can be transferred through explanation - this can be seen in the increased uptake of social sciences at my last teaching job and increased applications to university for these subjects.

Personal Description:
The social sciences are my expertise. In particular, cinema and art history with critical theory. I have extensive research experience in continental philosophy (Kant, Hegel, Marx, Althusser, Deleuze, Adorno, Badiou, etc.) and am well-versed in a wide-range of media and art theory topics (e.g. modernity, medium specificity, globalisation, avant-gardes, etc.).

I have a decade of experience as a media producer for various web and radio enterprises, and have written professionally for a range of digital publications.

Teaching Experience:

I have over 5 years of experience tutoring across the subjects listed in my profile. And I have also advised successfully on essays, coursework, dissertations and exam preparation from A-level to postgraduate level.

Coursework, essays and dissertation topics I have recently supervised:

- The semiotics of Barthes and Jakobsen
- Base, superstructure and ideological state apparatuses between Marx and Althusser
- The 'wilderness cosmology' of Daoism in classical Chinese Poetry
- Social unrest and China's modernisation project in the cinema of Jia Zhangke
- A comparative political analysis of Halklarin Demokratik Partisi and Ciudadanos
- Jean Baudrillard's concept of Hyperreality and 'The Truman Show'
- Phenomenology and Bad Faith between Edmund Husserl and Jean-Paul Sartre
- Postmodern urbanism and the cinema of Neill Blomkamp
- The Fauvist revolution in modern painting
- The Printing Press and media theory since Elizabeth Eisenstein
- Consumerism, and the media spectacle in urban Chengdu
- The fashion film and the "bad bitch": post-feminist representation in contemporary Hollywood cinema

Do contact me to discuss your specific essay, presentation or dissertation needs.

Tutoring Approach:

I offer two types of tuition: online (text-based) and in-person (verbal).

Online tuition is the most efficient method for written assignment preparation; superior in my experience than in-person tuition since the student is naturally obliged to articulate concepts, issues and questions directly in the written form that they are required to submit their essays, dissertations, and coursework in. This avoids the extra labour of translating verbal communication to written communication and vice-versa, which slows progress. I conduct online tuition via Skype, which is free to download and use.

In-person tuition is, however, better suited and encouraged for verbal assignments, like presentations and language-speaking practice.

Regardless of type, I always apply a needs-based approach to tuition; allowing my students' needs to dictate pace and intensity. I can, therefore, work closely on particular syllabus material in relation to coursework and exams, or take a broader approach to adult and casual learning.

I offer a full range of help on written work, from "brainstorming", essay or dissertation plans, literature reviews, primary-source gathering, all the way to polishing up the final draft before submission. All written work that I proof-read and supervise will be returned with in-line annotations (using MS Word or LibreOffice's comments and tracked-changes) offering detailed criticisms and suggestions on how to improve anything from grammar, structure, analysis, tone, argument and so forth. I also work fast: written work received before noon can be expected back the same day.
