I am 42 and have worked full-time as a piano teacher and performer for 20 years . My background is in classical music - I have played for many choirs & musical groups. But my other love is jazz and show songs, and have played in hotels and restaurants. People find me very easy-going, funny and enthusiastic. Tutoring Approach:
My style is probably best described as spontaneous and adaptable. I don't believe in fixed 'methods'. Everyone learns differently and also wants to play different music and achieve different musical goals. I always start by spending some time listening to my students musical desires. then I advise on how to get there in as fun and fulfilling a way as possible. I am happy to help students pass exams, but realise exams are not the best way for everyone. With children I always try to get their parents involved playing with them. And particularly emphasise the fun aspect of it. It can work like magic - I have taught 100s of children who probably wouldn't have responded to the old 'stick' based teaching methods, but who HAVE responded so well to the 'carrot' method they have quickly found the inner enthusiasm to spend hours playing every week.

Personal Description:
I am a native Polish. I studied Physics and Astronomy at University of Wroclaw, Poland - speciality: physic teacher. During my studies I worked as a journalist for student's monthly mag and I was writing IT related articles for another title. I came to Scotland over two years ago. At the start I was driving lorries, but due to the demand for polish I becomed a polish tutor in my spare time. At the moment I study languages and Central and Eastern European studies at University of Glasgow.

Teaching Experience:
In Poland I had a work placements as a physics teacher in secondary school. I was also tutoring in various range of subjects: from physics and math through the engineering mechanics to Polish and guitar playing. After I came to Scotland people around me started to ask for a Polish lessons. I agreed to try and I found it really interesting, so I decided to go for that more seriously - I did some reading, bought books and contacted other teachers for advice. I am also doing some translations from time to time - from school and law documents to some specialized texts related to transport industry.

Tutoring Approach:
I find language tutoring really fascinating - I think it's not only about language but it's about way of thinking. I am studying French, where I learn things new for me, and Czech, where I have opportunity to observe what difficulties are encountered by English speakers when learning a Slavic language, and I find both experienced useful when working with my own students. As I was working for years as a journalist, I have more practical then philological approach to language. I am using few books as a base to work with my students (from some basic courses through classic university textbooks by prof. Miodunka to modern well recognized coursebook "Hurra!") but I tend to use also every-day language by working with the newspapers, books or even some movies. My goal is to teach not only the plain language but all cultural aspects which are going with it.

Personal Description:
I have finished my A Levels, where I studied Art, Maths and French. I have always been extremely passionate about Art and Maths and therefore have always attained the highest scores possible in these subjects (A*'s at GCSE level in Art, Maths and Statistics, and A at AS level in Art and Maths). Personal Description:
I am a mature international student from India, currently in London doing DTLLS from LSME, London. I have come here to qualify myself to UK standards and also to keep up with the global trends in education and academics. With my rich and varied experience, I believe I can make a difference to my students academic standards and help them to reach their potential.

Tutoring Approach:
I conduct an initial assessment to evaluate my learners needs and learning styles. This helps me to determine the kind of inputs my learners would require; how I will be able to assisst them in their learning journey and keep them motivated to reach their academic goals within a mutually agreeable time frame. I prefer to facilitate learning and encourage my students to explore different routes to understand and make sense of what they are learning. However, depending on individual needs my style of teaching may change so that i deliver the best for my learners and enable them to chieve the desired learning outcomes. All this is in keeping with the needs of the school syllabus/national curriculum. I believe it is important to carry out continuous assessment to understand where my learners are in there learning journey so that I may help them to move on to the next step.
