Personal Description:
I am trilingual having been educated until the age of 15 in British boarding schools and then in Switzerland for 'A' Levels. I attended Nantes University for three years and obtained a degree in Linguistics. I enjoy teaching one a one-to-one basis. I have a wide variety of interests which means I am able to always find common ground with the student and therefore always establish a good relationship

Teaching Experience:

I have tutored on a one-to-one basis for many years for West Sussex Tutors based in Crawley with excellent results. I have also taught for many years in France where I lived for twelve years in both Lycees and Ecoles Superieures. Whilst living in Chile I also taught at La Serena University.

Tutoring Approach:

I am extremely patient and always try and use encouragement and praise to develop confidence. I am quite strict with expecting homework to be done as often this is the very reason why I am tutoring in the first place. Being well-spoken, I tend to command respect and admiration when the pupil realises that I am tri-lingual. I love tutoring and would like to extend the number of pupils I teach. It is also a way for me to practise and to continue improving myself in those areas I love and have a passion for

Personal Description:
I have been teaching privately for over 12 years and I have been teach on-line for over 2 years and I am passionate about teaching Modern Foreign Languages. I graduated from Reading University in 1980 having also studied at Grenoble University in France followed later by a TEFL course at Swansea University. After teaching French and German in a secondary school I moved into Exporting. Since 2000 I have been running my French and German Tuition and Translation company. I make regular visits to France and Germany and have many contacts in both of these countries. I regularly work also as a Translator of French and German into English. Italian is another language which I teach having studied this fantastic language at Reading University. English as a Foreign Language is another subject with which I have great experience and I often work for SILC which is a French company that sends French teenagers to the U.K. to improve their English. I have organised educational visits for French teenagers also in the U.K. on behalf of SILC.

TUITION ALSO VIA SKYPE.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught privately for over 12 years and previously worked as a French and German teacher in a secondary school and have taught French and German to adults at Leisure Centres for over six years. For the past 12 years I have taught French and German to all levels including University level with a 100% pass rate for all students at GCSE and A Level. I also teach English as a Foreign Language and regularly organise study visits for French teenagers in my area. I have also taught Italian online to Beginners and also supply Tuition via a Skype connection to students for all of my subject areas. Teaching via Skype is an extremely effective means of teaching a language providing both visual, oral and written back-up with the student interacting with the Tutor. I have worked for Apricot Online Learning which provides Tuition via Skype for students who are unable to attend school on a regular basis.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a very sympathetic approach to Tutoring and always get the best from my students. I have many years of Teaching experience and always check at every stage that the student can use the concepts which he or she has been taught. Teaching is done in a relaxed manner which puts the student at ease and this helps them to achieve their full potential. As stated above all of my students have passed all of their examinations in either French or German while studying with me at GCSE and A Level. I am passionate about my vocation as a Tutor and always go the extra mile to achieve the very best results for all of my students. Tutoring requires commitment and a total dedication to the role of mentor and educator.
My job is not only to educate but also to inspire and lead by example through proven methods which maximise a student's potential.

Personal Description:
I have recently graduated from a Masters degree in drama at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama having graduated from Cambridge University with a degree in English. Teaching has always been a great passion of mine and one to one tutoring is the most rewarding, in its opportunity for directness and specificity.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring privately for three years and have also tutored drama in schools over the last few years. I have also had teaching experience abroad, teaching English as a foreign language in Indian and African schools.

Tutoring Approach:

I aim to make learning fun whilst also ensuring fast and effective progress. I ensure that I get to know my students' ways of learning as soon as possible in order to tailor my tutoring style to their individual needs. I hope to be able to offer a way of learning different but utterly beneficial to the current exam syllabuses which can often seem fairly daunting and rigid on first impression.

Personal Description:
I am a dedicated, passionate, enthusiastic and approachable teacher committed to providing comprehensive teaching that fosters student development to the highest possible standard. I have worked in a variety of positions within the Education Sector over the past five years, three as a University Lector and two as a Secondary School Teacher.

Teaching Experience:

I am a native French speaker with over five years of hands-on teaching experience. I graduated in 2005 with a BA (Hons) in French and Spanish studies. I then lived and worked in Spain for two years as a French and English teacher. In 2006, I moved to Eastern Africa and worked as a volunteer for the University of Djibouti where I taught French and Spanish. I also helped the University to set up a project supporting professional French language development for non-French majors. During my time in Djibouti, I also worked closely with a local charity that enables marginalised and excluded children from deprived areas to receive training that will enable them to reintegrate into society, find jobs and improve the economic stability of their family and their wider community

Tutoring Approach:

Being a versatile educator, I have taken the opportunity to instruct a wide variety of students from various background and all facets of society. As a result, I am a compassionate teacher, who remains sensitive to student's unique need, employs effective listening, provides individual and whole group support, integrates multicultural teaching unit and offers positive encouragement and reinforcement to keep students focused and motivated.
One of the most effective ways that I assist my students is by developing and presenting comprehensible and stimulating lesson that facilitate all learning styles. I research, locate, and incorporate a variety of resources to accommodate students via visual, audio, tactile and kinaesthetic methods. In addition, I integrate literature, writers' workshop, phonics activities, and technology to ensure that each student is able to comprehend and retain the concepts.

Personal Description:
I am a teacher with over thirty years' classroom experience in both Primary and Secondary schools. I have taught in UK state schools as well as overseas.

Throughout my years in schools both home and abroad I have tutored Primary, Secondary and Adult students as a vocation as well as to supplement my income.

Teaching Experience:

My experience includes 12 years teaching English and History to GCSE and A level in the UK secondary system and eight years teaching the same subjects to the same levels in international schools in Italy, Egypt and Kenya.

During this time I have always had a number of students on my books for home tuition to provide extra help in Primary, Secondary and University level subjects.

Tutoring Approach:

In my long experience of tutoring I have seen the benefits in aptitude and confidence that pupils can gain from one-to-one tuition. In the unique one-to-one situation the teacher can inspire pupils to begin at last to see the relevance of subjects they find difficult to grasp in a high-pressure environment like school.

Once the pupil sees the need to master the subject I take them on to the next stage where they can undertake tasks which build up their confidence. It is also a means for me to ascertain what the pupil's strengths are and to build on them.

The next stage is the slightly more painful one of identifying weaknesses and gauging the pupil's awareness of them and motivation to put them right. Once the student and I have agreed which areas need improvement we use lesson time to extend competence and skills by undertaking thinking and written assignments that allow the student to develop these.

Any homework set will advance and reinforce the skills the pupil has been encouraged to bring to the lesson.

Personal Description:
I am a friendly and approachable 25 year old Veterinary Surgeon, currently living in Liverpool and undertaking further training in order to become a European Specialist in Veterinary Dentistry. I also have a Masters Degree in Physiology from Cambridge University. I am passionate about Maths and the Sciences, and feel very fortunate to have a job where I use them on a daily basis. I love teaching students, particularly when I can aid understanding and recall by putting the information in their course into a real life context. Outside of work I am a keen footballer and Liverpool fan, and also enjoy playing rugby and cricket and reading French Literature.

Teaching Experience:

I have 3 of years teaching experience at Cambridge University, where I taught one to one/small group tutorials and practical classes, and also marked and assisted students with course work and dissertations. I also have experience working with younger people through coaching cricket, conducting mock interviews for Vet School and assisting with extra Maths teaching for primary school children.

Tutoring Approach:

I feel that the main benefit of private tuition is that it can be tailored to an individual. I therefore take a flexible, pupil-centric approach to tutoring, ensuring I cover any areas in which the student feels they would like more help. I am also happy to provide an overview of the course, focussing on core topics and those which frequently come up in exams if required. I like to work systematically and ensure that the student is completely happy with a topic before moving on to the next - some of the concepts we have to cover can be very tricky and I try to make it clear to my students that if there's anything at all that they're not sure about, I'll be happy to go through it for as long as we need to before they understand the subject.

Personal Description:
My name is Haidee, I'm a 19 year old from Liverpool studying French at The University of Liverpool. (I often go to Kirkby and Fazackerly to work and see family so would often be available to tutor in that area too). I have thoroughly enjoyed learning French for 8 years and would love to pass on my knowledge so that you can enjoy learning French too! This is my first time tutoring but I have a genuine love and flair for languages and have enjoyed teaching friends in my own time, so please don't let this put you off as I would love to help!

In school I sat my GCSE early at the age of 14 (year 9), passing with a B. I then continued to study French for the final two years of school and passed again with an A*. I also started studying Spanish in the last two years and passed with an A. During college I studied French to A2 level, passing with a B. In my time in college I spent a week each year in Montpellier living with a French family and attending a French language school, which I really enjoyed and feel helped me with my learning.

In my free time I love to cook (although I'm not very good at it!), go out for meals (when my cooking goes wrong!), read and watch films. I also love to practise Tae Kwon Do, which I started at the age of 15, although I don't do this since I moved away to university.

Teaching Experience:

This is my first time trying tutoring, but I often helped my sister with her French to GCSE level. I also helped a friend of mine who struggled in school to pass her English and Maths GCSE by using imaginative teaching and memory techniques, to which she was very grateful. Due to having friends that also study languages I am used to being able to help others in areas in which they struggle. I have worked with children and young adults from age 2-18 part-time for the past 3 years and so would be comfortable teaching from all ages.

Tutoring Approach:

Throughout my learning experience I have found that it is best to learn the basic rules and grammar of a language from the start, as this has made it easier to build on this. I have lots of quirky ways of remembering things myself and would urge you to figure out how best you learn in order to develop your own style. I also enjoy to watch films/news, listen to music and read genuine French articles to enhance my own learning and would be using these to make your learning more interesting. As not every individual is the same I will adapt my teaching to suit your style and meet your individual needs and if there's something different you want to do please let me know so I can change!

Personal Description:
My name is Annie and I am a nineteen year old student. I study French and Italian at University College London and am entering my second year. I have just received a high 2:1 in my end of year exams.

Teaching Experience:

As a language student I've done a lot of volunteering, mainly helping out in the younger years' language lessons at school doing oral and grammar work, but sometimes helping out my parents' friends' children in their preparation for GCSEs.

Tutoring Approach:

I'm very enthusiastic about foreign languages and have knowledge of French, Italian and some German. I strongly believe that the world is only as big as the languages you speak! I'm very flexible with when and where lessons take place, though weekday evenings and weekends work best for me. I live in a maisonette in Camden with a light and spacious dining area where it will be possible to have lessons.
I'm prepared to tutor from complete beginner with no previous knowledge up to GCSE level. If you are a student at primary or secondary school, I'm happy to do lessons that help with your school work or target any specific weaknesses you feel you have. Alternatively, I'm also happy to decide what we cover myself. I'll teach oral/conversational classes, vocabulary and grammar.

Personal Description:
I am a Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) teacher at a mixed grammar school in North Kent. I am very passionate about French, Spanish and Italian, which I studied at university and thoroughly enjoy my job teaching these languages! Whilst at university, I spent an academic year living in the South-East of Spain, totally immersed in the language and culture of the amazing country, and giving me the opportunity to travel around it at weekends and during the holidays. I have since been to Cuba and Mexico, providing me with a greater insight, first-hand, into the Hispanic world. I have also enjoyed an academic year on the French speaking Caribbean island of Guadeloupe and spells in Chambery, France and Rome, Italy. In my free time I enjoy film, theatre, reading, running and socialising.

Teaching Experience:

I currently teach in a grammar school where I also have a position as Specialism Leader, meaning that I organise language-orientated events and opportunities for our students and students from other schools in the borough as well as training for teachers. My training whilst studying to be a teacher was in a mixed state school and an all boys state school in Oxfordshire. I have been involved in teaching and assisting in the MFL classroom since my university years; teaching English in a secondary school in Spain and in a primary school in Guadeloupe. During my second year at university, I worked voluntarily as an MFL classroom assistant in a school in Surrey, for which I won a borough-wide award. I have also taught English to adults, and so, as you can see, have experience working with learners of all ages. In school, I teach my languages to all three Key Stages. My teaching at Key Stage 5 includes preparing students for the International Baccalaureate (IB)); I am therefore familiar with the present examination requirements in MFLs. As well as being an MFL teacher, I am TESOL qualified to teach English as a second/additional language and enjoyed working a number of summers and during other holidays at a private school in Berkshire for students from overseas.

Tutoring Approach:

Whether teaching a whole class or tutoring one-to-one, my approach to teaching and learning is enthusiastic, thorough and varied as well as professional. I really aim to support students in their learning and in how they go about learning as well as in their confidence in and enjoyment of the subject. I have worked with a number of students of different ages, in different languages and at different stages of their learning one-to-one and adapt my teaching styles, materials and exercises accordingly.

Personal Description:
I am a Spanish native speaker from Madrid, currently working as a Spanish Language Assistant in a High School (years 7 to 13) in Greater London. I studied Translation and Interpreting with Spanish, English and French and I am passionate about languages, especially about teaching Spanish as a second language.

Teaching Experience:

I have been working as a private tutor for more than seven years. I have been a tutor for primary, secondary and adult students, English (as a second language) and Spanish language and literature. I have also worked as a MFL teacher in an academy (secondary school students).

I also volunteered as a Spanish Assistant in the University of East Anglia (Norwich, UK) for one semester.

Currently, I am working as a Spanish assistant in a High School (yrs 7-13).

References can be provided upon request.

Tutoring Approach:

As said before, 95% of my teaching experience is based on tutoring. I started tutoring when I was in High School, to get extra money, and my first tutoring approach was with my classmates. After that, as my first tutees got a good progression and excellent results, I started tutoring students from out of the school, and I have done that ever since, always focusing on each student's necessities and analyzing progression.

I am a French Erasmus student studying urbanism as a postgraduate at Queen's University. I would be happy to share my knowledge on France to other students.
I lived for a year in Germany as I was 16.

Teaching Experience:

Two years teaching french, history and geography to a 15-16 year old student
5 years helping with homework at a primary level
One year of teaching clarinet to a beginer.

Tutoring Approach:

The first session will be about understand what you want of our sessions and what is your level in French or German or music. From that level we will work toward the basics you miss or do not understand, and toward your homework or your school lessons if you have some. If you agree I will give you some homework (one small exercise about the subject of the day), so you can practice alone during the week. We also will have sessions about your assignments and essays to help you succeed at school.
For French tutoring, if you want, the cessions can also be made of discusisons about something interrest you, about live in France, or something else. It is also a nice and less scholar way to improve your language.
For music, you will have a small exercise to present for next week to be sure you remember what we did. We will not be able to get further on until you are able to do it correctly.

Personal Description:
I'm 19 years old, female, and studying Modern European Languages at University. I study French, Spanish at University Level and have begun Italian from scratch. I am a pleasant and easy going person and love to teach people and help them love languages like myself!

Teaching Experience:

I did Language Leader Award at my Sixth Form College. This award was a 12 month course learning the techniques to teach different languages to a range of different aged children/teenagers. It involved planning lessons thoroughly and gaining confidence in being able to teach different methods of learning languages with a fun work ethic.

At College I also tutored the younger years in both French and Spanish. Each week I had to prepare a lesson based on different aspects of the curriculum and aided students to pass both GCSE and A-level French and Spanish.

Tutoring Approach:

I have different techniques in tutoring students, and tailor their needs around my tutoring. Thanks to the Language Leader Award I am able to find different ways of teaching students the language which enable the student to reach the same level of proficiency at the end.
