Personal Description:
I am an experienced Lecturer in English Language and English Literature including the new specifications. I have been an examiner for OCR 'A' level English and AQA 'A' Level English for many years and have also moderated GCSE English examination papers. I tutor at all levels, from basic literacy, through to dissertations for under graduates including subjects not associated with the subject of English. I run a Creative Writing class and assist people to write novels and poetry and a variety of other genres. I have had outstanding examination successes in GCSE and 'A' Level and can provide references from former tutees.I am a member of the Institute for Learning - MIfL

Teaching Experience:
I have lectured English at both 'A' level and GCSE levels at a further education college. I teach a Creative Writing class, assisting people to write novels, poetry and a variety of other genres. All that I can say is that Ellie is fantastic. When she was teaching myself and my brother A Level Chemistry, she always gave short, concise explanations of concepts in a way that we easily understood. Also, she gave us past paper questions after each topic so that we had plenty of practice at exam technique. She marked these and sent us feedback on what to improve on. This meant that when it came around to do our exams, we were fully prepared for them and confident that we could do well. During lockdown, she was very flexible as she either had online lessons with us or set us exam papers that she marked and sent back to us with details on how to improve. Ellie's tutoring gave us routine Chemistry revision that alleviated pressure and allowed us to balance our time on other A Level subjects. Given the step up in difficulty of the new linear Aqa A Level chemistry course, I couldn't have been happier with the tutoring and support Ellie gave my son. I have been the Head of Accounting since 2006, at a large Catholic Sixth Form College in Hulme, Manchester. I am 46 years old, living in Didsbury, South Manchester. I gained my degree in Economics and Finance in 1998 from Leicester University. I began teaching in 2002 so have many years of experience teaching Accounting.

I mainly offer tuition at my home, or a local library, either at the weekend, or weekday evenings. However, I am usually able to offer tuition during the school/college holidays.

Teaching Experience:
I completed my PGCE at Manchester University in 2002. I only teach Accounting AS and A2 Level, and this is therefore my main specialism.
