| Personal Description: I am an Italian Native Speaker, Fluent in Spanish and English, a responsible, hard working and well orginezed person who focuses on the students' learning objectives. I am a friendly and sociable person with a good sense of humor. I like working on my own initiative and I can always establish a very good relationship with colleagues and students. |
Teaching Experience: I have 2 years experience teaching in universities and other institutions in South America (Ecuador). I created and successfully implemented the new italian language programme for the students of fashion design at UTE University in the city of Quito, in Ecuador. |
Tutoring Approach: I focus on a communicative approach, even though students have the opportunity to practice the 4 language abilities. I explain the grammar only after teh rules have already been met in dialogues and conversation, rather than in the traditional way of "studying the grammar as a first rule". Vocabulary and phonology are also taken into consideration during the learning process. I always encourage and motivate students showing them taht they can reach their goals. |

| Personal Description: I am a Principal Lecturer in Chemistry and former Head of Department of Science at a Polytechnic in Nigeria. I have a number of Publications in Academic Journals and currently on PhD by research work in Analytical Chemistry at the Nottingham Trent University. |
Teaching Experience: I have taught undergraduate students in chemistry modules at a Polytechnic in Nigeria for over 16 years and have also supervised a number of student independent projects during the period, before coming to UK for further studies. I equally have experience in tutoring Biology in GSCE classes for about 3 years (being the first minor subject in my University Training). |
Tutoring Approach: My approach to teaching is student-centered learning activity, starting from identifying the unknown and proffer solution in an interactive way without losing sight of the relevant teaching/learning goals and outcomes. Recognising the knowledge gap of learners with adequate support, encouragement and guidance; it would lead to desire objectives and results. With hardwork and right attitudes; learning is automatic and interesting. My experiene in handling and improving students' learning skills in chemistry is very adequate. |

| Personal Description: I graduated from university in 2006 and then went straight to Rome to do my TEFL course, which then led to me being offered a job in Rome straight after the course. I am very patience and understanding of the pressure to learn a new language as i found whilst in Rome. I am also in the process of learning German so i fully sympathise on how difficult it is to learn a new language. I am very fun-loving and i immensely enjoy teaching English, i feel very passionately towards it and i love to really help people to achieve their goals with the language. I am quite active and i love to travel and play many sports, but i also love to unwind with a good book. |
Teaching Experience: I have taught in Rome for 7 months at Wall Street Institute () where i taught business English and general English mainly to adults. I have taught at a summer camp where i was teaching English to children aged 12-17. |
Tutoring Approach: I am a very patient and conscientious teacher, where i can fully understand that learning a language is hard. I have a very open minded approach to teaching and i feel strongly that the best way to learn is through practice and talking, talking, talking. I teach a language with different games and scenarios where i feel this is the best way to practice it as you get a lot of talking done and i also teach grammar in a subtle but effective way. I feel a tutor should be someone who can lead and guide you in the right direction but ultimately you have to put in the work too, i think of myself as more a facilitator than a pushy hard teacher. |

| Personal Description: 1. I have four years experience of teaching high school Chinese. During this period, I taught and researched Chinese, and investigated the methods of teaching Chinese. Therefore, I have very deep knowledge of Chinese theory and the Chinese system of knowledge; I know the difficulty students have when studying Chinese; I know how to design teaching plans and what to concentrate on in each course. 2. I have a native accent, because I come from Northern China, people who live in this area speak standard Mandarin. I also hold the "Certificate of Putonghua (Mandarin) level test", which is awarded by the China National Language and Word Working Committee. This certificate is necessary proof for teaching Chinese in China. 3. I have a bachelor degree at this moment, but this is a degree from a teacher's university. Also during four years studying and over four years teaching period, I met, researched and solved many kinds of real teaching problems. As a result of this experience, I know how to use both the theory and methods of teaching and my knowledge of Chinese in real teaching situations. Through this experience my teaching has become more and more effective. 4. I have been in the UK nearly a year, I have not stopped studying English. My English level is upper-intermediate at this moment, and I also passed ESOL exam. 5. I am teaching a French and an English students now, so I konw how to deal with the different accents in learning Chinese. |

Researcher in the "Research concerning training for self-learning and cooperation", ratified by the Chinese National Ministry of Education (November 2005 ─ October 2006) 4. I have taught foreign people Mandarin since the end of 2008. |
Tutoring Approach: In general, Mandarin training should include four parts: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Among them, listening and speaking should be a bit more than reading and writing during classes, while reading and writing should be done more in the homework. Different teaching methods should be used for different students: 1) For beginners, we should use more teaching equipments, objects and pictures, so as to help them to remember words by thinking in images, also to make them do simple communication with Chinese. 2) For intermediate students, the teacher should heighten the accuracy of their pronunciation, the grammar as well. In listening part, normal speaking speed can be used, except some difficult sentence; in speaking part, teach them to speak more native; in reading and writing parts, read simple articles or newspaper and to write brief articles are necessary. 3) For advanced students, we need to extend their vocabulary, also some Chinese idioms. In listening part, teacher should use normal speed of speaking and use more complicated sentence; in speaking part, help their Mandarin sounds to be well educated; in reading part, teacher should give more longer articles or chapter of famous novel to students as exercise; in writing part, let students know that write diary in Chinese are helpful, teacher can give any help if they want. |

| Personal Description: I have been involved in teaching and education since finishing my degree, I love Science (especially Earth Science) and enjoy walking the coast paths and the moors here in Devon and telling my friends more than they probably want to know about the rocks! |
Teaching Experience: I taught in a Secondary School near Bristol for 4 years after completing my PGCE in Cambridge. During that time, I ran a science club, was Head of Chemistry and Deputy Head of Year 7. I developed a strong belief that everyone is able to learn given the right environment, and that a caring approach and an understanding of where the student is coming from is important in being a good teacher. Since moving to Devon, I work at Exeter University as a teacher trainer and I am doing a PhD in Education. |
Tutoring Approach: I am a friendly and professional teacher, committed to providing quality learning experiences for any students I work with. I have a degree in Natural Sciences (included Earth Science, Chemistry, Physics and Maths) from Cambridge and can offer support with Oxbridge applications. I try to tailor my teaching to the needs of the student, providing support with learning skills and exam technique alongside subject content. |

| Personal Description: My name is Adnan. I am working as a Research Assistant with the Faculty of Computing at London Metropolitan University. I have recently submitted my PhD in Computer Science with the School of Engg and the Built Environment, University of Wolverhampton. Prior to this, I had been working with the Learning and Information Services department at the same university in the capacity of Study Skills Advisor. In addition I also taught English and General Studies to GCSEs and year 7 - 11 in a boarding school at Kidderminster. I have also taught programming language and IT courses to undergraduate students for 4 and half years in a renowned Middle Eastern university. Currently I am involved in hardcore research in a hybrid area of Computing and Biology with the Faculty of Computing and Life Sciences at the London Metropolitan University. Though very demanding, the role is flexible in terms of working patterns and therefore I can still continue with my most beloved activity of providing teaching support and tuitions. |
Teaching Experience: Until recently (March, 2010), before moving to London, I was teaching English and General Studies (Citizenship and PSHE) to year 7 - 11 and GCSE level students at Madinatul Uloom Kidderminster. Also, as a Study Skills Advisor with the Learning and Information Services, University of Wolverhampton, I was responsible to provide ONE-to-ONE teaching and research support to students ranging from first degree level to graduate and adult students in the disciplines of Computing and ICT, Maths and Numeracy, Business Studies and Social Sciences. Additionally, I have a 4+ year teaching experience of teaching programming language related courses to undergraduate students at a renowned Middle Eastern University from 2002 - 2006. Finally and most importantly, my reason of mentioning Urdu in my teaching expertise is due to the fact that, during my undergraduate years, I used to work with the second largest Urdu daily in Pakistan as a columnist and sub-editor. This gave me extensive exposure and grip onto Urdu, which is one of two first languages. (I have dual speaking parents). |
Tutoring Approach: During the last 10+ years of teaching different individual levels and students, I have myself learned that transfer of knowledge is not solely related to higher degrees and training courses. It is something that a person attains with time and dedication. The approach differs immensely when you teach groups and individuals. My approach varies on individual basis but overall includes the following main objectives: Support individuals to develop their own styles to learn Enable students to utilize their own very strengths Help individuals in organization themselves and eliminate bad habits such as procrastination, lack of concentration or interest Most importantly, assist learners in utilizing all that is mentioned above and much more to strive and achieve best academic grades |

Beyond that I always begin with students by discussing what they want from their drumming. What music they like, what music they would like to play, and how great their ambition may be. I then proceed to tailor lessons to their needs. With children I keep the same approach but emphasise the need to explore a wide range of styles to ensure a good grounding and musical flexibility. |

| Personal Description: I am a French student currently doing a Master in "Law and Anthropology" at the London School of Economics. |
Teaching Experience: I have been working as a private tutor for two years. French is the most convenient subject for me to teach not only because it is my native language but also because I know the syntactical rules of it having been writing several essays and academic articles. nb: I also have had experience in teaching French to children as their first foreign language. |
Tutoring Approach: My approach to tutoring is both traditional and alternative since while I am preparing outlines and assigning homeworks for each lesson, I also encourage the students to participate orally during the whole time of the tution and discussing with them the logic of the rules in order to teach them substantial French. This prepare and motivate them to solve the questions and problems using the knowledge they acquire from the tuition. |
